A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR
FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN OUTDOOR RECREATION
PROJECT TO THE INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR OUT-
DOOR RECREATION AS PROVIDED BY THE MARINE
RECREATION LAND ACT AND THE $10,000,000 OUTDOOR
RECREATION BOND ISSUE OF 1964.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has
approved a "Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan" by
Ordinance No. 1147 for the urban area which identifies a
community park at the intersection of 80th Street and 184th
Street S. W., and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Marine Recreation
Land Act, and the $10,000,000 Outdoor Recreation Bond Issue
of7964 state and federal funding assistance has been author-
ized and made available to aid in financing the cost of land
for parks and the construction of outdoor recreational facil-
ities of local public bodies, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds considers
it in the best public interest to acquire a community park in
the northern part of the City generally located in the Seaview
Planning District at the intersection of 80th Street and 184th
Street S. W.1
NOWc THEREFOREt BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Edmonds, Washington,
1) That the Mayor be authorized to make formal appli-
cation to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation for fund assistance.
2) TIB t any fund assistance so received be used in the
acquisition of seven (7) acres of land in the
northern part of the City of Edmonds, Washington.
3) That any property acquired with financial aid
through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Rec-
reation will be placed in use as an outdoor recrea-
tion facility and will be retained in such use in
perpetuity or otherwise as provided and agreed to by
the City Council and the Interagency Committee for
Outdoor Recreation.
4) That this resolution become part of a formal appli-
cation to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Rec-
reation.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington
at its regular meeting held October 4, 1966.
