RESOLUTION NO,
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING
ASSISTANCE FOR AN OUTDOOR RECREATION PROJECT TO THE
INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION AS
PROVIDED BY THE MRINE RECREATION LAND ACT AND THE
$10,000,000 OUTDOOR RECREATION BOND ISSUE OF 1964.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has
approved a Comprehensive Plan, and land use and park plan for
the urban area which identifies community parks on Puget Sound
on the central western boundary of the City, being priorities
one and two for waterfront parks,, and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Marine Recreation
Land Act, and the $10,000,000 Outdoor Recreation Bond Issue
of 1964 state and federal funding assistance has been author-
ized and made available to aid in financing the cost of land
for parks and the construction of outdoor recreational facil-
ities of local public bodies, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds considers
it in the best public interest to acquire community parks
waterfront of the City generally located onthe central western
border of said City, the legal descriptions which are attached
hereto,
NOWT, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EDMONDS., WASHINGTON.,,,
1. That the Mayor be authorized to make formal applica-
tion to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for
fund assistance.
2. That any fund assistance so received be used in the
acquisition of 24.4 Acres (Sunset Beach Park) and one Acre
(Dayton Street Beach Park) of land on the western boundary of
the City of Edmonds, Washington.

3. That any property acquired with -financial aid
through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation will
be placed in use as an outdoor recreation facility and will be
retained in such use in perpetuity or otherwise as provided
and agreed to by the City Council and the Interagency Commit-
tee for Outdoor Recreation.
4. That this resolution become part of a formal appli-
cation to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
