A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS9 WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR GRANT FOR SEWAGE TREAT-
MENT WORKS EXPANSION AND EXTENSION PURSUANT TO THE
FEDERAL POLLUTION CONTROL ACT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Wash-
ington,ar.third class city, has approved a comprehensive
sewerage plan entitled, "Engineering Report on Comprehensive
Sewerage Plan For the City of Edmonds, Washington, June, 19658
andYas adopted the same by ordinance, and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Federal Polution
Control Act City municipalities are eligible for certain
state and federal grants to aid in financing the cost of con-
struction, expansion and extension of sewerage facilities,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds, is extensively bordered on
the West by Puget Sound, and
WHEREAS:a it is necessary in the interest of protecting the
health, safety and general welfare of the City of Edmonds and
to prevent pollution of Puget Sound that the existing Edmonds
sewage treatment plant be expanded and extended, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The Mayor is authorized to make formal application for
available grants for the construction and expansion of the
Edmonds Sewage treatment plant, phase one and phase two and
outfall extensions pursuant to the Federal Pollution Control
Act administered by the Federal Water Pollution Control Admin-
istration in conjunction with the Washington State Pollution
Control Commission, and enter into such agreements as necessary
to comply with the rules and regulations of said administering
and granting agencies.

RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Edmonds,
Washington at its regular meeting held onthe 17th day of
Octobers 1967.
