A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,r WASHINGTON
COMMENDING GORDON MAXWELL FOR HIS SERVICES TO
SAID CITY AND THE CITIZENS THEREOF.
WHEREAS.$ it is appropriate and desirable that a communi-
ty award public recognition for outstanding public service
rendered by individual citizens, and
WHEREAS® GORDON MAXWELL has diligently served the City
of Edmonds, and the citizens thereof, almost continuously for
a period of time approaching two decades in official capaci-
ties for said City of Edmonds, other municipal corporations
and civil and civic affairs, and
WHEREAS;., such activities of GORDON MAXWELL are too many
to delineate and too accomplished to need magnification, and
WHEREAS,a be it sufficient herein to recite only that
GORDON MAXWELL served with distinction for nine years as a
member of the City Council and for an additional nine years
as Mayor of this same City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, and
the officers -and employees of said City deem it only fitting
that a commendation should be issued herewith for th e time
and effort so spent by GORDON MAXWELL and that said commenda-
tion should be made a part of the permanent records of said
City of Edmonds, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS`
WASHINGTON, that GORDON MAXWELL be hereby commended for his
unselfish dedication to the City of Edmonds and the citizens
thereof and for his guidance for the future and better devel-
opment of said City, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
furnished to the said GORDON MAXWELL and an additional copy be
entered in the permanent records of this City in order that
the citizens be forever aware of the high esteem and respect
in which GORDON MAXWELL has been, is and will be held forever-
more.
RESOLVED by the City Council this 6th day of February, 1968.
