Resolution 172RESOLUTION NO. 172 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS WASHINGTON COMMENDING SPROULE A. MCGINNESS FOR HIS SERVICES TO SAID CITY AND THE CITIZENS THEREOF. WHEREASO it is appropriate and desirable that a community award public recognition for outstanding public service ren- dered by individual citizens, and WHEREAS.a SPROULE A. MCGINNESS is one of the few individ- uals capable of and willing to serve city government in its legislative branch, its executive branch and in an advisory capacity, all with little or no financial remuneration` and WHEREAS, SPROULE A. MCGINNESS has dedicated many years to the City of Edmonds as a member of the City Council, Chairman of the Planning Commission and as Mayor of said City to the best of his able abilities, and WHEREAS, said SPROULE A. MCGINNESS has voluntarily re- tired from his most recent position as a member of the City Council, much to the regret of his fellow city officials, and WHEREASO. the City Council of the City of Edmonds, and the officers and employees of said City deem it only fitting that a commendation should be issued herewith for the time and effort so spent by SPROULE A. MCGINNESS and that said commen- dation should be made a part of the permanent records of said City of Edmonds, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS* WASHINGTON,, that SPROULE A. MCGINNESS, be hereby commended for his unselfish dedication to the City of Edmonds and the citi- zens thereof and for his guidance for the future and better development of said City, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be furnished to the said SPROULE A. MCGINNESS and an additional copy be entered in the permanent records of this City in order that the citizens be forever aware of the high esteem and respect in which SPROULE A.
