A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS* WASHINGTON*
COMMENDING JACK MCLELLAN FOR HIS SERVICES TO
SAID CITY AND THE CITIZENS THEREOF.
WHEREASO it is appropriate and desirable that a commu-
nity award public recognition for outstanding public service
rendered by individual citizens, and
WHEREAS, if the City of Edmonds is to preserve its
natural beauty and waterfront environment it will need
additional funds for open -space land acquisition, and
WHEREAS, to this end JACK MCLELLAN,, without charge or
remuneration of any kind, unselfishly donated many hours
and gave of his talent and thought for the betterment of
said city,, and
WHEREAS, JACK MCLELLAN substantially aided the parks
and recreation department of the City of Edmonds in its
design and presentation to the Washington State Interagency
Committee for outdoor recreation for matching money to ac-
quire the proposed Sunset Beach Park, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds deems
it only fitting that a commendation should be issued here-
with for the time and effort so spent by JACK MCLELLAN and
that said commendation should be made a part of the perm-
anent records of said City of Edmonds, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDSO
WASHINGTON,. that JACK MCLELLAN be hereby commended for his
unselfish dedication to the City of Edmonds and the citizens
thereof and for his guidance for the future and better devel-
opment of said City, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
furnished to the said JACK MCLELLAN and an additional copy
be entered in the permanent records of this City in order that
the citizens be forever aware of the high esteem and respect
in which JACK MCLELLAN has been, is and will be held forever-
more.
RESOLVED by the City Council this 19th day of March, 1968.
