A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON URGING
THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF SNOHOMISH COUNTY TO ADOPT
LEGISLATION PROVIDING FOR A SEVENTY-TWO HOUR WAITING
PERIOD IN THE SALE OF SHORT FIREARMS
WHEREAS, merchants within a city sell goods, wares and
merchandise, including firearms, to their customers without
regard to residence within the city, and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that gun legislation be reason-
ably uniform within a regional shopping area, and
WHEREAS, only the county can provide such uniform legis-
lation applicable for all areas of the county whether within any
particular incorporated city area within the county or within the
unincorporated county areas themselves, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON that the Honorable County Commissioners for the County
of Snohomish Washington, adopt legislation to provide for a
seventy-two hour "cooling -off period" for the purchase of short
firearms within the County of Snohomish.
