A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
COMMENDING JOHN MORAN FOR HIS SERVICES TO SAID
CITY AND THE CITIZENS THEREOF
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable that a community
award public recognition for outstanding public service ren-
dered by individual citizens, and
WHEREAS, said JOHN MORAN has diligently served the City
of Edmonds, and the citizens thereof, in various capacities
as City Engineer, Superintendent of Public Works, and Director
of Public Works, and
WHEREAS, JOHN MORAN has voluntarily resigned from said
position much to the regret of his fellow City officials and
staff members, and
WHEREAS, during the time so spent JOHN MORAN has devoted
himself unselfishly and for many hours of overtime in evenings,
weekends, and holidays, during periods of inclement weather,
and in circumstances of other adversity, to the spirit of
bettering the community in which he has so painstakingly
served, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, and the
officers and employees of said City deem it only fitting that
a commendation should be issued herewith for the time and effort
so spent by JOHN MORAN and that said commendation should be
made a part of the permanent records of said City of Edmonds;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, that JOHN MORAN be hereby commended for his
unselfish dedication to the City of Edmonds and the citizens
thereof and for his guidance for the future and better develop-
ment of said City, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
furnished to the said JOHN MORAN and an additional copy be
entered in the permanent records of this City in order that
the citizens be forever aware of the high esteem and respect
in which JOHN MORAN has been, is and will be held forevermore.
RESOLVED by the City Council this 1st day of July, 1969.
