A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
COMMENDING J. WILLIAM GOULDER FOR HIS SERVICES
TO SAID CITY AND THE CITIZENS THEREOF
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable that a
community award public recognition for outstanding
public service rendered by individual citizens, and
WHEREAS, said J. WILLIAM GOULDER has honorably
and diligently served the City of Edmonds, and the
citizens thereof, for many years, as the police judge,
and as such presided with honor and distinction over
such honorable court giving to it the distinction of
said distinguished jurist, and
WHEREAS, J. WILLIAM GOULDER voluntarily retired
from his said judgeship much to the regret of the bar,
his fellow city officials and the citizens of said
City of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, during the time so spent J. WILLIAM
GOULDER has devoted himself unselfishly to the spirit
of bettering the community in which he has so pain-
stakingly served, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds,
and the officers and employees of said City deem it
only fetting that a commendation should be issued here-
with for the time and effort so spent by J. WILLIAM
GOULDER and that said commendation should be made a
part of the permanent records of said City of Edmonds,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, that J. WILLIAM GOULDER be hereby
commended for his unselfish dedication to the City of
Edmonds and the citizens thereof and for his guidance
for the future and better development of said City, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution
be furnished to the said J. WILLIAM GOULDER and an addit-
ional copy be entered in the permanent records of this
City in order that the citizens be forever aware of the
high esteem and respect in which J. WILLIAM GOULDER has
been, is and will be held forevermore.
RESOLVED by the City Council this 6th day of January,
1970.
