Resolution 228RESOLUTION NO. ;� Z % A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON COMMENDING MEREDITH STOKES FOR HIS SERVICES TO SAID CITY AND THE CITIZENS THEREOF WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable that a community award public recognition for outstanding pub- lic service rendered by individual citizens, and WHEREAS, said MERDEITH STOKES has diligently served the City of Edmonds for six years, and the citizens thereof, as a member of the Civil Service Commission, acid WHEREAS, MEREDITH STOKES voluntarily retired from his said position much to the regret of his fellow city officials and Civil Service Commission members, and WHEREAS, d_uring-.-.the time so spent, MERDEITH STOKES has devoted himself unselfishly and without financial remuneration to the spirit of bettering the community in which he has so painstakingly served, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, and the officers and employees of said City deem it only fitting that a commendation should be issued herewith for the time and effort so spent by MERDEITH STOKES and that said commendation should be made a part of the permanent records of said City of Edmonds, now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, that MEREDITH STOKES be hereby commended for his unselfish dedication to the City of Edmonds and the citizens thereof and for his guidance in the future and better development of said City, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resol- ution be furnished to the said MEREDITH STOKES and an additional copy be entered in the permanent records of this City in order that the citizens be forever aware of the high esteem and respect in which MEREDITH STOKES has been, is and will be held forevermore.
