A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS WASHINGTON
COMMENDING JAMES MARTIN FOR HIS SERVICES TO
SAID CITY AND THE CITIZENS THEREOF.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable that a
community award public recognition for outstanding public
service rendered by individuals, and
WHEREAS, JAMES MARTIN has diligently served the
City of Edmonds for five years and two months, and the
citizens thereof, as a member of the Edmonds Police Depart-
ment, and
WHEREASe JAMES MARTIN while in the performance of
his duties with the Edmonds Police Department received
injuries in the line of duty to such an extent as to pro-
hibit his continuation with the Edmonds Police Department,
and
WHEREAS, during the time in the service of the
Edmonds Police Department JAMES MARTIN was recognized by
his fellow police officers as being unsurpassed in com-
bining maximum traffic control with maximum community
appreciation, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds,
and the officers and employees of said City deem it only
fitting that a commendation should be issued herewith for
the time and effort so spent by JAMES MARTIN and that said
commendation should be made a part of the permanent records
of said City of Edmonds, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON that JAMES MARTIN be hereby commended
for his unselfish dedication to the City of Edmonds and the
citizens thereof and for his guidance in the future and better
development of said City, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution
be furnished to the said JAMES MARTIN and an additional
copy be entered in the permanent records of this City in
order that the citizens be forever aware of the high esteem
and respect in which JAMES MARTIN has been, is and will
be held forevermore.
RESOLVED by the City Council this 6th day of October,
1970.
