Resolution 234RESOLUTION NO. 234 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON COMMENDING MARGARET WHITEMAN FOR HER SERVICES TO SAID CITY AND THE CITIZENS THEREOF WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable that a community award public recognition for outstanding public service rendered by individual citizens, and WHEREAS, said MARGARET WHITEMAN has diligently served the City of Edmonds, and the citizens thereof, as a member of the Park and Recreation Advisory Board, and WHEREAS, MARGARET WHITEMAN voluntarily retired from her position much to the regret of her fellow city officials and Park and Recreation Advisory Board members, and WHEREAS, during the time so spent, MARGARET WHITEMAN has devoted herself unselfishly and without financial remuneration to the spirit of bettering the community in which she has so painstakingly served, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, and the officers and employees of said City deem it only fitting that a commendation should be issued herewith for the time and effort so spent by MARGARET WHITEMAN and that said commendation should be made a part of the permanent records of said City of Edmonds, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, that MARGARET WHITEMAN be hereby commended for her unselfish dedication to the City of Edmonds and the citizens thereof and for her guidance for the future and better develop- ment of said City, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be furnished to the said MARGARET WHITEMAN and an additional copy be entered in the permanent records of this City in order that the citizens be forever aware of the high esteem and respect in which MARGARET WHITEMAN has been, is and will be held forevermore.
