A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
STATING A GENERAL POLICY OF SUPPORT OF THE, °911
PROGRAM" AND OPPOSING FOR FINANCIAL REASONS
CENTRAL DISPATCHING LIMITED TO FIRE DEPARTMENTS.
WHEREAS, inquiry has been made to the City Council
of the City of Edmonds as to the desirability of partici-
pating in central dispatching in the South County area for
Fire Departments, and
WHEREAS, after due consideration of the foregoing
with particular reference to the cost of central dispatching
particularly on a piecemeal basis,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
At this time the City Council of the City of Edmonds
supports the 911 Program in principal for full emergency
preparedness for as large an area as economically and
technically practical, especially for the South Snohomish
County area, however, at the present time, due to financial
considerations, the said City Council of the City of
Edmonds is not in favor of the necessary expenditure of
funds necessary to enter into centralized dispatching
limited to fire protection purposes.
