RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
COMMENDING A. L. KINCAID FOR HIS SERVICES TO SAID
CITY AND THE CITIZENS THEREOF.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable that a community award
public recognition for outstanding public service rendered by individual
citizens, and
WHEREAS, A. L. KINCAID has diligently served the City of
Edmonds, and the citizens thereof, having first been elected as a Council-
man for said City in March of 1953 and having served until 1960 at which
time he declined to continue to serve, and having subsequently been
re -appointed to the City Council to take the place of resigning Councilman,
Orland Christiansen, on December 15, 1964, and having served continuously
on the Council from 1964 until January 18, 1972 at which time said
A. L. KINCAID again retired from the City Council, and
WHEREAS, said A. L. KINCAID, in recognition of his outstanding
leadership and dedication to public service has over the period of time
of his terms as City Councilman served on all council committees, including
past chairman of the council street committee: and me) -ober of the council
auditing, safety and traffic and utility committees, and further, that said
A. L. KINCAID was appointed to serve as the ex -officio member of the
City Council to the Planning Commission and further served as a repre-
sentative of the City of Edmonds on the Board of the Snohomish County
Health District and also as a member of the Southwest Snohomish County
Joint Planning Council, and
WHEREAS, during the time so spent, A. L. KINCAID has devoted
himself unselfishly in the spirit of. bettering the community in which he has
so painstakingly served, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Edmonds,
and the officers and employees of said City deem it only fitting that a
commendation should be issued herewith for the time and effort so spent by
A. L. KINCAID and that said commendation should be made a part of the
permanent records of said City of Edmonds, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, that A. L. KINCAID be hereby commended for his unselfish
dedication to the City of Edmonds and the citizens thereof and for his guidance
for the future and better development of said City, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
furnished to the said A. L. KINCAID and an additional copy be entered in
the permanent records of this City in order that the citizens be forever aware
of the high esteem and respect in which A ►., KINCAID has been, is and will
be held forevermore.
