A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR INCREASED FUNDING
ASSISTANCE FOR THE SUNSET BEACH PARK AND RECREA-
TIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO THE SNOHOMISH COUNTY
CITY MATCHING FUND FOR PARKS AND RECREATION.
WHEREAS, under provisions of the Snohomish County Park and
Recreation Bond Issue of 1967 and its Snohomish County City Matching
Fund for Parks and Recreation, funding assistance to cities of the county
has been authorized and made available to aid in financing the acquisition
and development of parks and recreation facilities; and
WHEREAS, by previous Resolution No. 183 and Resolution No.
223 the City Council of the City of Edmonds has applied for and received
matching funds from the Snohomish County City Matching Fund for Parks
and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 247 the City of Edmonds authorized
application to the Snohomish County City Matching Fund for Parks and
Recreation for the balance of said funds available to the City of Edmonds
in the sum of $14, 955. 23; and
WHEREAS, the cost of development of said project for restroom,
bulkhead and paving have risen beyond that originally contemplated by said
city; now, therefore
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City of Edmonds be and is hereby authorized to amend
its application to the Snohomish County City Matching Fund for Parks
and Recreation for increased funds in the sum of $5, 724. 77 for a total
application for $20, 680. 00;
2. Said fund assistance to be used to finish the development of
the proposed Sunset Beach project as stated in the project application;
3. Said Sunset Beach project, having been obtained with financial
aid to the Snohomish County City Matching Fund for Parks and Recreation
and other state and federal matching funds, said property shall be and has
been placed in use as a park and recreation facility and shall be retained
in such use in perpetuity unless otherwise provided and agreed to by the
City Council of the City of Edmonds, the Board of County Commissioners for
Snohomish County, and any other affected state or federal agency; and
4. This Resolution shall become part of a formal application to the
Snohomish County City Matching Fund for Parks and Recreation.
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington
at its recessed meeting held on April 25, 1972.
