Resolution 260RESOLUTION NO. 26o A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON PURSUANT TO PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 357, ADOPTING IN PART, REJECTING IN PART AND MODIFYING IN PART THE RECOMMENDATIONS THEREIN CONTAINED, AND ESTABLISHING A BICYCLE PATHS AND A RECREATIONAL WALKS SYSTEM BY ADOPTION OF MAPS DELINEATING THE SAME THEREON, PROHIBITING THE SIGNING OF THE SAME UNTIL FURTHER APPROVAL OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND PROVIDING FOR FUTURE IMPLE- MENTATION BY REFERENCE TO SAID MAPS AS STREETS ARE HEREINAFTER IMPROVED WITHIN THE CITY OF EDMONDS. WHEREAS, pursuant to Planning Commission Resolution No. 357 as the same therein appears in Planning Commission File No. CP -1-71, the City Council called a public hearing on a regularly scheduled hearing night, and WHEREAS, having therein determined that the recommendations of the Planning Commission should be adopted as hereinafter set forth, and in modification thereof, and that the public health, safety and general welfare will therein best be served and future plans be implemented for providing and preserving natural beautification and amenities of the Edmonds area and recreational and healthful activities provided for persons of all ages without substantial detriment to developing an adequate street system and improvements thereto, now, therefore, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE i CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. There is hereby adopted that official map designated as Exhibit "A", Bicycle Paths, delineating a proposed bicycle path system as described in Planning Commission File No. CP -1-71, and as available from the deputy city clerk assigned to the Planning Department of the City of Edmonds, and as further filed by certified copy of the same in the files of the Edmonds City Clerk. The path described as the Cross - Town Route shall have priority consideration for development. Section 2. There is hereby adopted that official map designated as Exhibit "B", as Recreational Walks, delineating proposed recreational walks as described in Planning Commission File No. CP -1-71, and as available from the deputy city clerk assigned to the Planning Department of the City of Edmonds, and as further filed by certified copy of the same in the files of the Edmonds City Clerk. Section 3. As streets along the Cross -Town Route depicted on Exhibits "A" and "B" are improved, the design of such improvements shall take into consideration the needs of such bicycle and recreational walk systems. Implementation by use and signing of said Cross -Town bicycle paths and recreational walk systems as adopted by this Resolution shall not take place until the same are approved by the City Council of the City of Edmonds and therein approved for implementation, use and signing.
