AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE
MUNICIPAL APPROVAL OF PLATS, SUBDIVISIONS, AND DEDICATIONS;
PRESCRIBING STANDARDS FOR THE DESIGN, LAYOUT AND DEVELOP-
MENT THEREOFi PROVIDING PROCEDURE FOR MUNICIPAL APPROVAL
OR DISAPPROVAL THEREOF: PROVIDING FOR THE GRANTING OF VARI-
ATIONS AND EXCEPTIONS THERETO: AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR
THE VIOLATION OF ITS PROVISIONS: ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND
UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON
OF THE YEAR 1935, AS SET FORTH IN REMINGTON'S REVISED STATUTES,
CHAPTER 44. LAWS OF 1935.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds has,
by resolution, recommended to the aforesaid City Council, the adoption of
rules and regulations relating to and calling for municipal approval of the sub-
division and development of land within the City of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, it has been resolved by such aforesaid Commission
and recommended to the City Council herein mentioned, that said City should
Establish and encourage the formation of neighborhood or community units;
to provide adequate light and air; to avoid undue concentration of population;
to secure an appropriate allotment of land area in new developments, and to °.
promote a coordinated development of the unbuilt areas in and about the environs
of the City of Edmonds; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS DOES ORDAIN
as follows:
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days from and
after its passage, approval and legal publication.
