mask issue.
Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes: Pam proposed to approve the February 13, 2020 meeting
minutes. Apple seconded the motion. All approved, none opposed.
Phase 2 Reopening: Patrick shared that Governor Inslee has presented us with a 4 Phase Reopening
Plan. We are in Phase 1 now, looking forward to Phase 2. Criteria has changed since the plan was first
presented. June 15Y might not be the Phase 2 reopening date as was hoped. Phase 2 "Light" might
occur.
Reopening Communication: Pledge Campaign Pam told us that the Marketing committee is hoping to
have a robust marketing campaign as businesses reopen. "Peace of Mind Pledge" would be a way for
businesses to signal to the community that they are meeting all the safety requirements put out by the
State of WA. They would like to use ideas from a Walla Walla program. It communicates to everyone,
staff and community, that all safety requirements are being met. It would be voluntary. Businesses
would sign up to make the pledge to make the public feel good about going into businesses. We would
use a fun, friendly graphic. There is currently $10,000 left in the Marketing budget, we hope to spend up
to $2,000 for this campaign. There is also some money left in the Web budget that could possibly be
used for this purpose.
Pam moved that we use $2,000 for a Peace of Mind Fund. Jenny seconded. All approved, none
opposed.
Pam shared that the City of Edmonds received $1.2 million from Snohomish County for a Cares Fund.
Pam moved that we request $30,000 from the Cares Fund to augment the Marketing Budget for 2020.
Mark seconded. Discussion followed. After much discussion Pam removed the motion to allow
committees to meet to decide what larger, more broad proposal might be proposed. After committees
meet another board meeting will be held on Thursday of next week.
Meeting adjourned: 9:00 AM
