The <br />meeting was opened with the flag salute. <br />2. LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT <br />Councilmember Distelhorst read the City Council Land Acknowledgement Statement: "We acknowledge <br />the original inhabitants of this place, the Sdohobsh (Snohomish) people and their successors the Tulalip <br />Tribes, who since time immemorial have hunted, fished, gathered, and taken care of these lands. We <br />respect their sovereignty, their right to self-determination, and we honor their sacred spiritual connection <br />with the land and water." <br />3. ROLL CALL <br />City Clerk Scott Passey called the roll. All elected officials were present, participating remotely. <br />4. PRESENTATION <br />PROCLAMATION HONORING MARY LOU BLOCK <br />Mayor Nelson read a proclamation honoring Mary Lou Block and acknowledging that her contributions <br />to the City of Edmonds will be missed. <br />Councilmember K. Johnson shared that her last memory of Mary Lou was sitting on park bench <br />overlooking Marina Beach; they had just completed a tour of the entire Edmonds waterfront that was <br />Edmonds City Council Approved Minutes <br />March 2, 2021 <br />Page 1 <br />
