CALL TO ORDER/FLAG SALUTE <br />STAFF PRESENT <br />Shane Hope, Development Services Director <br />Kernen Lien, Environmental Programs Mgr. <br />Jeff Taraday, City Attorney <br />Scott Passey, City Clerk <br />Dave Rohde, GIS Analyst <br />The Edmonds City Council virtual online meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Mayor Nelson. The <br />meeting was opened with the flag salute. <br />2. LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT <br />Councilmember Fraley-Monillas read the City Council Land Acknowledgement Statement: "We <br />acknowledge the original inhabitants of this place, the Sdohobsh (Snohomish) people and their successors <br />the Tulalip Tribes, who since time immemorial have hunted, fished, gathered, and taken care of these <br />lands. We respect their sovereignty, their right to self-determination, and we honor their sacred spiritual <br />connection with the land and water." <br />3. ROLL CALL <br />City Clerk Scott Passey called the roll. All elected officials were present, participating remotely. <br />4. PRESENTATION <br />HEARING EXAMINER ANNUAL REPORT <br />Hearing Examiner Phil Olbrechts relayed three hearing examiner decisions have been issued since the last <br />annual report to the City Council. The reduced activity may be attributable to the pandemic although <br />some other clients have kept him very busy. The most distinctive thing that happened last year was <br />hearings were conducted virtually due to COVID-19.
