RESOLUTION NO. 479
A RESOLUTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
.WASHINGTON DECLARING SUPPORT OF THE EDMONDS CITY
` COUNCIL FOR THE SNOHOMISH SUBREGIONAL DFVELOPMFTiT
PLAN-AS.A GENER:L GUIDE FOR GROWTH MANAGEMENT IN THE
SNOHOMISH COUNTY AREA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, growth management in Snohomish County should
be carried out in a consistent and cooperative manner by all of
the local jurisdictions to help assure maximum cost effectiveness
of public expenditures and to better achieve mutually desired
planning objectives; and
WHEREAS, the Snohomish Subregional Council, of which
the City of Edmonds is a member, has studied, reviewed and
adopted a conceptual growth management framework for the county
area which established general guidelines for growth management
decisions; and
WHEREAS, this framework is entitled the SNOHOMISH
SUBREGIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN, and is currently consistent with
and supportive of the plans and programs of the City of Edmonds;
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the SNOHOMISH
SUBREGIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN be endorsed by the Edmonds City
Council as an areawide planning framework for the jurisdictions
of Snohomish County; and
FURTHER, that the City of Edmonds will use the
Subregional Development Plan in its land use policy decisions as
a general guide defining areawide concerns;

FURTHER, that any inconsistencies of the
Subregional Development Plan with the City of Edmonds that
may now exist or that may exist in the future will be resolved
through the amendment process.
