RESOLUTION NO. 482
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, PETITIONING
THE SNOHOMISH COUNTY COUNCIL TO ESTABLISH
A MUNICIPAL DEPARTMENT OF THE SOUTH DIS-
TRICT JUSTICE COURT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Pursuant to RCW 3.46.040, the City
Council petitions the Snohomish County Council to establish
a municipal department of the South District Justice Court
for the City of Edmonds.
Section 2. The municipal department for the City
of Edmonds would require one part time judge. The Council
estimates that such judge would be required to spend 40 %
of his or her time for the Edmonds municipal department.
Section 3. In the event prior to December 31, 1980,
the City of Lynnwood, or any other south county city files a
petition to create a joint municipal department with the City
of Edmonds, then this petition shall be considered for a
joint municipal department with.such city or cities.
Section 4. Pursuant to RCW 3.46.040, the City Coun-
cil reserves its right to withdraw this petition any time
prior to adoption of the districting plan by the County Coun-
cil.

Section 5. The Clerk shall forthwith file a certi-
fied copy of this resolution with the Snohomish County Council.
