That should such receipts exceed the estimate aforesaid, such excess <br />shall ba expended by the City in the manner provided by law, subject to the <br />approval of the Department of Highways. <br />3o That the city clerk be, and is hereby, instructed to forward a copy of <br />this Resolution to the Department of highways. <br />ADOPTED by the Mayor and City Cou-cil this 3ed,day of September <br />1940. <br />There being no further business on motion the Council adjourned. <br />'Ut Lj�-, )�� L;� <br />Mayor. <br />September 17th. 1940. <br />The Council met in regular session with Mayor r ourtner presiding. The <br />roll call showed the following Councilmen present: Chandler, Hanson, Calls- <br />han, Clasen and Marten. The minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. <br />The Mayor caked if there was any one in the Council Chamber who had some- <br />thing. they wished to bring before the Council. <br />Mrs. Harold BoBartlett and Mrs. Robert Hinkleman complained about the <br />who <br />people were speeding on Third Avenue, and reque9ted the Council to, do some- <br />thing about it. The Landendorf Bread Truch, theRed grow Gas Truck, the <br />Wanderbread Truck and many others, even people of.our own city. <br />Councilman Hancon said he -thought the better method would be to write <br />to these firms and call their attention toa the fact that their drivers <br />were exceeding the speed limit on our city streets and'that they would be <br />Punished for so doing if they did not stop it. <br />The Council on mot&on instructed the Mayor to put on a special policeman <br />to stop these trafio violations. <br />The City Clerk reported that -he had a purchaser for the Conner prop- <br />erty om Maple Street, Mrs. Aileen Elliott* Wants to know the best terms the <br />Council will makeo After due consideration the Council on motion decided to <br />8e11 her the place; Lots 21-22-23-24-25-26- and 27 Block 96, for $1478050. <br />0100,00 oash and_the rest at $25,00 per month plus 6% interest on defused <br />payments. <br />The Mayor called the attention of the Council to the fact that there <br />were a number of people smuth of the city limits that desired water, The <br />Council, after due consideration, on motion instructed the Water Superinten- <br />dent the make an estimate of the cost and find out how many wotLild put a <br />Years watter rent in advance to have the cater brought to their property <br />line. <br />There being no further business on motion the Council adjourned. <br />Mayor. <br />11 <br />
