That should such receipts exceed the estimate aforesaid, such excess shall ba expended by the City in the manner provided by law, subject to the approval of the Department of Highways. 3o That the city clerk be, and is hereby, instructed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the Department of highways. The Council met in regular session with Mayor r ourtner presiding. The roll call showed the following Councilmen present: Chandler, Hanson, Calls- han, Clasen and Marten. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The Mayor caked if there was any one in the Council Chamber who had some- thing. they wished to bring before the Council. Mrs. Harold BoBartlett and Mrs. Robert Hinkleman complained about the who people were speeding on Third Avenue, and reque9ted the Council to, do some- thing about it. The Landendorf Bread Truch, theRed grow Gas Truck, the Wanderbread Truck and many others, even people of.our own city. Councilman Hancon said he -thought the better method would be to write to these firms and call their attention toa the fact that their drivers were exceeding the speed limit on our city streets and'that they would be Punished for so doing if they did not stop it. The Council on mot&on instructed the Mayor to put on a special policeman to stop these trafio violations. The City Clerk reported that -he had a purchaser for the Conner prop- erty om Maple Street, Mrs. Aileen Elliott* Wants to know the best terms the Council will makeo After due consideration the Council on motion decided to 8e11 her the place; Lots 21-22-23-24-25-26- and 27 Block 96, for $1478050. 0100,00 oash and_the rest at $25,00 per month plus 6% interest on defused payments. The Mayor called the attention of the Council to the fact that there were a number of people smuth of the city limits that desired water, The Council, after due consideration, on motion instructed the Water Superinten- dent the make an estimate of the cost and find out how many wotLild put a Years watter rent in advance to have the cater brought to their property line.
