On motion the petition was regu.red to the City Engineer for checking.
The City Clerk reported that he had sold for cash, Lots 36-27-38-39
and 40, Block 40 to H.Drew Jr, for $175,10 subject to the approval of
the City Council.
On motion. the City Council approved the sale and instructed the
City Attorney to draw up the deed of transfer, and that the Mayor and
City Clerk sign the deed.
The mayor reported that he had sold Lotc.3�,-39m .d 40, Block 96
to Elmer Schoolcraft for �378,009 and tha ;� oved an old shak on
the lots before the sale was approved by the Council.
On motion the City Clerk was instructed to notify him that he must
show plans and specifycations of the buildings he proposes to put on
these lots before the Council will approve the sale. And that the plans
must be submitted within 30 days.
On motion the Council instructed the the y.P. foremen toplace the
curb and putter that runs along in front of the n-itcheook property
in a straight line with the other property.
On motion the_LiCity Gler c was instructed to not r the Safeway
Store that they mast take care of their garbage and,;-"
put it out on
personal property.
There being no further business on motion the Council adjourned.

The Council met in regular session with itLayor Pourtner presiding. The
roll call allowed the following Councilmen present: H..4.Chandler, R.T.
ltoscoe, r.C. ianson, W Hansen and ';f.Clausen. The minutes of the last meet-
ing were read and approved.
The Union Oil Company presented their deed for 60 foot street for !'irk;
Avenue to Dayton Street, for which the Council had agreed to pay $150,00;
also a vouchre for the same.
Om motioj.i the Council approved all transactions therewith and ordered
drawn on the Street l;•und to pay thew150,00.

" Dear Sir: Please be informed that the status of sewer project , r;P 2950,
for City of Edmonds, will be considered as ineligible for any further
work thereon after December 31, 1941, because of the fact that the allo-
cation of funds covering projects listed under Official .project '665 will
be rescinded as of the date herein mentioned.
If it your desire to have 52.1. participate in sewer construction in.
your City, please furnish this office with the necessary data relative to
setting 'up a new project to cover work to be anticipated, keeping in mind
that.,72A funds for non -labor purchases fo material involved in project
will be approa�iinately 41;4,00 per man -month and that Sponsor's contribution
would have to be considered on a minimum of 25% Of total cost of project.
This office will be glad to cooperate with you in processing ana sub-
mitting a new project to cover work that may be desired."

esting explanation of the setup as to how -these projects worked out.
The City Engineer made the followin report on the proposed Bell
Street Sewer and Street improvement project.

carry the lateral over to 6th Street before sufficient }:ride could be ob.-
tained, however it would be entirely feasible to construct a sewer on Bell
Street between Stiff and 9th Streets and by so doing connect over to the existing
sewer on 8th and Hain Streets. In this instance, I would believe that the
correct locution of the sewer vj-uold be in the alley in Block 78 and also
Block 79.
2- Grading of the Street is entirely feasible, but it will require consid-
erable amount of fill between 7th and 8th Streets in the gulley,'which will
necessitate the use of equipment rather than hand labor.
Should. the Council deem it necessary,,we will be glad to furnish further
detailed estimate of costs for the above work." -

The City Engineer made the following report on the Daley,Street sewer:
Gentlemen:
We have inspected the proposed sewer fronting; on Lots 1 to
20, Block 101, Plat of City of -Edmond, being between 6th and 7th on Daley,
and find that it is feasible to construct a sewer,either on Daley!atreet or
in the alley between Daley and'Sprague Streets depending on the wishes of the
property owners, in as much as this sewer would only serve Lots l'to 20 in
Block -101.
The following is the estimated cost:
1. 6 inch concrete sewer pipe
605 ft. $0,45 w 272.25
2�- Wye's 10 0 1,80 18, 00
3. Construction of 1 manhole 65,00
4. Miscellaneous, shoring lumber,
cement, nails, etc. lump sum 120,00
5.. Engineering 100,00
TOT.AL------------- 575.25
Cost per Lot-------------- 28.76
The above prices ere based straight contributions end does not
include the formation of a Local Improvement District. Should the project be
done on contribution basis,it would be our recommendation that all money be
placed in escrow prior to beginning the project and that each propertyowner
would agree to pay a proportinate share of any additional cost in the event
the prices exceed those estimated, or in the event a deduction in the estimated
prices, he would receive the same proportionate amount in return."

The bill of C.D.Farr for damage do.n6Lt his car while going through
the blockaded improvement section of First,.Avenue North.
The Council, after due investigation, on motion rejected the claim.
The use of the City,Pump,that is used where water interfeer's with improve-
ments, came up for consideration.
On motion the Council instructed the Mayor to rent to ��_�L the pump
to, parties in the city who. were making improvement, where water interfered
with their work, and that the charge shall be $1,00 per day.
The Mayor brought up the question of a sewer cleaning rod -.After con-
sidering the proposition made by the FLEXIBLE 'SE4UER 'HOD' QUIPTdMITT. CO.,the.
Council, on motion accepted their proposition, to allow the city to have their
sewer cleaning equipment on 30 days trial.
The Idayo rbrought up the question of paying the extra policemen for
hallo,wine night. On motion it was desided to pay 621- cents per hour.
The Mayor said the City.'Engineer reported to him that the City
should have an extra serwer book for the Engineer.
On motion it was desided to have an extra copy made.
There being; no further business on motion the Council adjourned.
