1945-02-06 City Council MinutesA motion was made by Councilman McGibbon and seconded by Savage that an Ordinance be drawn up, if necessary,to have the residence water meters read every two month andthe business water meters read every month and bills be sent out every two months. Councilmen Clausen and Chandler- stated that they were not in favor of making the change. A vote of the council showed Chandler no, Jones no, Clausen no, McGibbon yes, McDonell yes, Hansen yea Mayor Fourtner vote yes. Counciman Savage did not vote. The Council met in -regular session with Mayor Fourtner tresidi.ng. The roll call shoved the following Councilmen present Chandler, McGibbon,'McDonell, Jones, Savage, Hansen and Clausen. The water collector and Treasurer's reports were read. A motion was made by Chandler and seconded by Savage that the bills which were approved by the finance committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. A motion was made by McGibbon and seconded by Clausen that he,be given permission to do this work under the supervision of the street superintendent. Motion carried. Councilman Jones.reported_thatthe boy.scout Master Ross Waggoner would like permission to built a recreation building for the Boy Scouts on the City Park property. Councilman Savage made a motion that they be given permission to build, but -they are to present a.plan of the same to the Council. RcGibbon seconded the motion. Eotion carried. Councilman Clausen reported on the extending of the water line south of the City limits. He stated that we should go through this summer and be sure that to have sufficient water, and that the City is in no position to give these people water at this time. Mayor i'ourtner reported he had secured two men for the Police work. C. W. Hawkings for the Chief of Police work and B..K, Montgomery for the police who is subject to call. A motion was made by Chandler and seconded by McGibbon that the Mayor be given the authority to purchase a set of police equipment for,the police department. Motion carried. The petition for the sidewalk, curb and gutter along.l'ifth Avenue was laid over until the next meeting of the Council There being no further business the meeting adjourned. Ci y Clerk Mayor
