The roll cell showed the following Councilmen present McDonell, McGibbon, Jones, Savage and Clausen/ A motion was made by Savage and seconded by Jones that the following bills which approved by the •finance committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on' the proper funds. Treasurer's and Plater collectors books .yere in good order. The Council received one bid for four inch Century Lstestos Cement. Pipe form H. L. 2owler Co. at a price of 58/ per linial foot. A motion was made by Clausen and seconded by Savage.that this bicl be taken under consideration until the next meeting. of the Coan.cil. Motion carried. Policeman Montgomery reported that the police department was badly in need of a truck for the Police Department.. This was laid over until the next meeting of the Council. t, A motion was made by McGibbon and seconded by Jones that the old resouvoir on 'Mein and Ninth streets be drained, Motion carried. A motion was made .by Clausen and seconded by. Mcgibbon that the Council sell lots 15 and 1G in Block 120 tb Charles BOW for $450. Motion carried by a unaminous vote of the Council. A motion was made by Clausen and seconded by McDonell that the clerk call for bids on the sewer, :when the plans and specifications are ready.• Motion carried. A motion was made by Savage and seconded -by McDonell that the water supt. purchase 1000 feet ofrFour••winch Universal Cast Iron pipe. Motion .carried. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. City Clerk Mayor Wril 17, 1945+ The Council met in regular session with Mayor Fourtner presiding. The roll. call showed the.following councilmen present.Ch4ndler,. McDonell, McGibbon, Savage, Jones, Hansen and Clausen. A motion was made by Savage end, seconded by McDonell that the bills of Ray Mcleever for labor on water 32 and on the street. for $40 be allowed. Motion_ carried. A le Ver was read, by the Clerk thet . ?ointer , ililliamett Co. had written to the Department of Public Service in regards to the installing of the signals - at the two railroad crossings,, that no action had.been taken, and that they would appreciate any cooperating in the matter. A motion was made by Savage a.nd seconded by Mcdonell.tha.t the Clerk Write to the De> rtment of Public Service and find out the speed limitApr trains through the City of Edmonds t .Nylot ion carried.. Chief of Police appeared before ,the Council and,stated that the police department needed a car,, that it"impossible to cover the City without a car also to catch those who are speeding.through the City. It was sug- gested that the trucks which was used for W.P.1 work be used. A motion was made by Savage and seconded by Chandler that the Chief of Police inquiry as to the expense for repairing said truck and report at the next meeting of the Council. Motion carried.
