A motion was made by Councilman Tucker and seconded by.Counoilman Waggoner <br />that Resolution of Intention N'o.'121 for the improving of Third Avenue <br />from Main street to the North City limits by=the construction of heavy <br />duty bituminous road mig or asphaltic concrete surfacing between the exist- <br />ing concrete pavement and curbs together with storm water inlets and sub - <br />drainage, the construction of curbs and gutters, where none now exist, to- <br />gether with all other appurtenances necessary to effect a complete improve- <br />ment, providing that the payment for said improvement be made by special <br />assessment on the property in the Improvement -District to be formed therefor <br />under the mode of payment by bonds for material used, fixed estimate and all <br />other expenses, except that forty per cent of:the cost of paving only, includ- <br />ing the preparation for paving, shall he paid by the City of Edmonds from the' <br />Street fund, be adopted and the time for hearing be set for July.,.g9.. Motion. carried. <br />A *motion' was' made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by ,Councilman Tucker <br />that ordinance no. 570, for the confirming of the assessment roll for L. I. D <br />No. 59 for the improving of Bell Street from seventh to Ninth, Seventh Street <br />from Main To Edmonds Street., and Eight] rfrom Dayton Street to Edmonds street. <br />Motion carried. <br />A'motion-*ts made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by Councilman McGibbon <br />that the Clerk be authorized to purchase 12 new chairs for the Council roorp. <br />Motion carried. <br />K motion was made by Councilman McGibbon and seconded by councilman McGinness <br />that the Street Supt. be directed to inspect all L. I. D. projects and to <br />inform the contractor of any defects found in the work. Motion carried. <br />Councilman McGibbon reported that the committee decided to route the traffic <br />for a trial period down Main Street to Second Avenue, North on Second to <br />Edmonds street, West on Edmonds to Fiat t Avenue, South on First to Main Street, <br />This was made.-e motion by Councilman McGibbon and seconded by Councilman <br />Waggoner. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. <br />Ci y Clerk Mayor <br />July 15, 1947 <br />The Council met in regular session with Mayor Fourtner presiding. The roll <br />call showed the following councilmen present McGibbon, �yl Xjj, Waggoner, <br />Siefert; McGinness, Clausen and Maxwell. <br />Resolution of Intention No. 120 for the improving bf Sixth Street from Glen <br />Street to a point 400 feet North of Glen Street and the alley in Block 99 <br />from seventh to sixth Avenue by the construction of an 8 inch sanitary and <br />storm°sewer, came up for hearing. There being no objection to this improve- <br />ment a motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by Councilman <br />Waggoner that the attorney be instructed to draw up an ordinance for this <br />improvement. Motion carried. <br />A. letter was read from the crescent Laundry in which they claim damages for <br />dirty water. A motion was made by Councilman Maxwell and seconded by coun- <br />cilman McGinness that the attorney anstpr both claims, stating that the <br />council rejects these claims. Motion carried. <br />George Yost came before the Council and asked for a loading zone for his <br />busses, he stated that the Richfield Service station, where they are now <br />loading, were objecting to this. After some discussion a motion was made <br />by councilman Maxwell and seconded by Councilman Waggoner that this be re- <br />ferred to the Street committee. Motion carried. <br />The Council took up the discussion of the different.Loeal Improvement districts <br />with the engineer. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. <br />City Clerk Mayor <br />
