1 <br />1 <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. <br />C y Clerk <br />Mayor <br />September 2, 1947 <br />The Council met in regular session with Mayor Fourtner presiding. The roll <br />call showed all councilmen present. The water collectors report was read. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McGibbon and seconded by Councilman Tucker <br />that the bill form the Stateside Construction Co., be tabled until the next <br />Council meeting. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McGibbon and seconded by Councilman Tucker <br />that the bills which were approved by the finance committee be allowed and <br />warrants drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. <br />read <br />A letter was^from two property owners on First Avenue North, in which they <br />state a condition of water drainage on their property in the winter time, <br />and whould like to have something.done to prevent this condition. A motion <br />was made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by Councilman Tucker that this <br />be referred to the Street Committee. Motion carried. <br />The Hearing on the Sewer for Sixth Avenue North, and the alley in Block 99, <br />was set for this meeting. There being no one protesting against this im- <br />provement the attorney was instructed to draw up.the Ordinance. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Tucker and seconded by Councilman McGibbon that this Ord* <br />be passed and published. A roll call vote showed McGibbon yes, Waggoner yes, <br />Tucker yes, McGinness yes, Siefert no, Clausen no, and Maxwell no. <br />The Council proceeded to make up the preliminary Budget for the coming -year. <br />Councilman McGibbon made a motion that the existing full time salaries.be the <br />same as last year. A roll call vote showed McGibbon <br />yes,. Waggoner no, tucker no, Siefert yes, McGinness yes, Clausen yes and <br />Maxwell no. <br />Because considerable time bwmng spent on the budget and it hot being com- <br />pleted, the Council adjourned until Wednesday evening. <br />September 3, 1947. <br />The Mayor, Clerk and Councilmen Clausen,.Megibbon and Maxwell met to complete <br />the budget. After its completion their being no further business the meeting <br />adjourned. <br />lip <br />Mayor <br />September 16, 1947 , <br />The Council met in regular session with Mayor Fourtner presiding. The roll <br />call shoved all councilmen present. The Treasurers report was read. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Siefert that we hold up the payment on <br />eonteact to the Stateside Construction co. until the joint of 6 inch pipe <br />in replaced with an eightiinch joint of pipe. A. motion was made by Councilman <br />Tucker that partial payment be made to the contractor on the contract.' <br />A roll call vote showed all councilmen voting yes except.councilman Maxwell <br />who voted no. <br />A letter was read from P.4rs. Schroeder in which she states her property has <br />been damaged by water running down on her property. A motion was made by <br />Councilman McGibbon and seconded by.councilman Tucker that this be. referred <br />to the City Engineer. <br />Letters were read from the Lion's Club and the Chamber of Commerce in which <br />they state that they are very much in favor of program as.outlined by Coun- <br />cilman Waggoner and budgeted for 1948. <br />A letter was read from the Water Supt,.; Ray McKeever, the need for a new water <br />tank and more water for next year, th2t this should be started on immediately. <br />A notion was made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by Councilman Waggoner <br />that the recommendation be accepted. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tucker and seconded by Councilman McGinness <br />that the Health Officer inspect the property of the three people who were <br />connected to the disbanded water main in regard to sewerage disposal and <br />report to the Council in regards to this. Motion carried. <br />
