March•2, 1948 <br />The Council met in.regular session with Mayor Fourtner presiding. The roll <br />call showed the following councilmen present McGibbon, Tucker., McGinness, <br />Siefert, Clausen and - Maxwell. <br />The water collectors report was read. A motion was made by Councilman Max- <br />we.l.l.and seconded by councilman Siefert that the bills which were approved <br />bythe finance committee be allowed and warrants drawn on the proper funds. <br />Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Clausen . <br />that the PexpontyheE,property purchased from Chas. Brown in the amount of $3:47 <br />be paid. Motion carried. <br />This was the date set for the hearing on. Assessment Roll for L. I. D. J-61. <br />Threee written protests were read. After some discussion a motion was made <br />by Councilman Clausen and seconded by councilman Siefert that the assessment <br />roll be approved and turned over to the Treasurer for collection. MOTIOn <br />carried. <br />temporary <br />Mr. Hall asked for permission to install a gas tank and pump, on the property <br />line,e�A thei.Sehooleptgperty, on.Glen streets A motion was made by councilman <br />McGibbon and seconded by councilman Tucker that the school District be given <br />this permission with the understanding that any time improvement are made <br />on the street, the school must move the-pLunp, and any damage done to the City <br />property to be paid for by the school. Motion carried. <br />April 6 was set for the date of hearing on Assessment roll #60. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tucker <br />that the signs which were placed near the High School on a 3o day trial_, <br />for no parking be made permanent. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clausen and seconded by councilman McGinness <br />that the Engineer prepare a call for bids on a grovel packed well on Main <br />Street. Motion carried. <br />A written petition signed.by all the councilman was presented to the Mayor. <br />The Council asked for the separation of the street and water departments, <br />also for a change in superintendent. Mayor Fourtner appointed Mr. Shirley <br />for Supt. of -street dept. and Londerville Supt.-of the water dept. both <br />on a salary of 0225 per month, and Mr. Coulter asst. on the street dept. <br />at $200 per month, Mr. MoZeever to work on the water dept. for two weeks <br />and two weeks vacation, to receive $200-for the Month of March. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. <br />1 yClerk' Mayor <br />March 16, 1948 <br />The Council met in regular session with mayor Pourtner presiding. The roll <br />call showed all councilman present. The Treasurers report was read. A letter <br />was read from the Secretary of the Library Board in which they ask for the <br />approval by the Council, of Mrs Hunziker for a five year term on the board. <br />Mayor Fourtner appointed Mrs. Hunziker on the library board. 'A motion was <br />made byeCouncilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the <br />appointment be approved.' Motion carried.' <br />Ordinance No. 5.80 for the approvinand confirming the assessment roll for <br />L. I. D. 61 was read to the council. <br />. A motion was made 'by coun..ilman <br />Maxwell and seconded by councilman McGibbon that this ordinance be published <br />and adopted. Motion carried. <br />Councilman McGinness reported that the street committee had a meeting. He <br />stated that the black -top streets were the first on the list for maintenance <br />and the repair.of broken curbs and sidewalks. He also stated a road main- <br />tainer had been demonstrated. L motion was made by councilman Mcginness <br />and s-econi,ed by Councilman Siefert that the coynoil call for bids on a <br />three ton hydraulic road maintainer with loading and bulldozing attaelIhments <br />to be purchased on cash or terms. Passed'by a unaminous vote of the council. <br />A�inotion was made by oouncilman Waggoner and seconded by councilman Siefert <br />that the city pay the light bill at the city park. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Waggoner reported that the addition to the caretaker house had <br />been completed thd.a septic tank had been installed, and the ball field was <br />being put in shape for this.summer, also some play equipment was here. <br />
