Sether, State Land commissioner, which states <br />that'It is up to the City Council to decide what they want to do in regards <br />to a lease and the dock, but if sometadt ons.ittndtiltaken soon it will be <br />reverted back to their old order and the. dock will b.e removed. A motion <br />was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Waggoner that the <br />Attorney draw up papers to apply for a lease f.or the vacating of the water- <br />way . Councilman McGibbon made an amendment to this motion that this action <br />be held up until an agreement has-been received from,2ointer-Williamette. <br />A roll call vote showed McGibbon yes, Tucker no, Waggoner no, McGinness <br />no, Siefert no, Clausen yes, and Maxwell no. A•roll call vote on the previous <br />motion showed McGibbon -no, Tucker yes, Waggoner yes, McGinness no, Siefert, <br />yes, Clausen no and Maxwell yes. to <br />A motion was made by Councilman-McGinness that the state be notified that the <br />City has not reached an agreement and want the dock removed... <br />A motion was made by councilman McGibbon and seconded 'by councilman Tucker <br />that we --inform the -state we are interested ikeeping the dock and are negiot- <br />ating with Pointer-Williamette. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Waggoner <br />that the salary of the water superint nedent be referred to the water committee <br />to report at the next council meeting. Motion carried. Councilman Siefert <br />suggested tads be made retroactive to the first of the month. <br />Several people came before the council and asked to have daley street opened <br />for travel from Seventh to Eighth Street. A motion was made by councilman <br />Waggoner and seconded by councilman McGinness that this be referred to the <br />street committee for investigation and report at.the next meeting. Motion <br />carried. Also the matter of furnishing water to these people was <br />referred to the water committee by a motion made by Councilman McGinness and <br />seconci.ed by councilman Maxwell. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman <br />Siefert and seconded 'by <br />councilman Waggoner <br />that the attorney be notified -to <br />secure deeds to vacate <br />Erben Drive from third <br />Avenue to Fifth Avenue if this <br />property has not been deeded to the City. <br />Motion carried. <br />There ceing no further business <br />the me,.eting adjourned. <br />City Cleric <br />Mayor <br />, <br />March 23, 1948 <br />The Council met for a special meeting with Mayor Pourtner presiding. The <br />roll call showed all councilmen present. <br />One bid was received for the drilling of the well, from N.^C. Jannsen Drill- <br />ing co. for 43535.40. A motion was made by Councilman Clausen and seconded <br />by councilman Tucker that the basic bid, with the improved screen at a cost <br />of $10 per foot, also item #6 for the development of well to be charged <br />at the rate of $10 per hour, be accepted. Passed by a unaminous vote of <br />the Council. <br />There being no further busineas the meeting adjourned. <br />4 <br />7Z- �YgA V� <br />Uity Clerk Mayor <br />April 6, 1948 <br />The Council met in regular session with Mayor F'ourtner.presiding. The roll <br />call showed the following councilmen present McGibbon, Tucker, Siefert, <br />MoGinness, Clausen and Maxwell. <br />The Treasurers report was read. A motion.was made by Councilman Siefert <br />and seconded by councilman McGibbon that the bills which were approved by <br />the finance committee be allowed ar,d warrants drawn on the proper funds. <br />Motion carried. <br />This was the date set for the hearing on L. I. D. No. 60, for the Maple <br />street sewer. A written protest from Yost Auto Co., was read. Mr. Hunter <br />Stated it was his opinion that lot 40 in Block 121 and Lot 1 in Block 122 <br />be canceled from the roll. The Attorney recommended the Councib approved <br />the assessment roll -and the.t he would draw up an Ordinance confirming the <br />roll, and the hearing be continued until the next meeting. <br />
