Motion <br />carried. <br />Specification have been prepared by the Engineer for the seal -coating <br />of the streets-Twrth of Main street, estimated amount of-,�6200. A motion <br />was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell <br />that we call for bids on seal -coating as outlined by the Engineer, to be <br />submitted July 6. 'Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman lcGibbon and seconded 'by councilman <br />Tucker that the park board spent �;250 for a float at the city dock. Motion <br />carried. <br />The Park committee recommended that the lease of the Edmonds fide Lands <br />be accepted at as low aprice as it dQ.=Id ,be gotten for.. <br />A. motion was made 'by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Me <br />Ginnese that the Treasurer purchase a desk for 040. Motion carried. <br />,the extending of the alley "between virst and 5econdeavenue south of <br />main street was referred to the street committee by a motion made by <br />councilman lvicGibbonsanddseconced by councilman ,ucGinness. motion carried. <br />A -motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman <br />McGibbon that the purchase of the property and assessment in Block 121 <br />be paid from the current lxpense fund. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman <br />McGibbon that the hazard condition of the north side of the dock be <br />turned over to the safety committee for investigation. Motion carried. <br />Therebeing no further business the meeting adjourned. <br />/z ti r <br />City Clerk . mayor <br />July 6, 1948 <br />The Council met in regular session with Mayor Fourtner presiding. The <br />roll call showed the following councilmen present McGibbon, Tucker, <br />Waggoner, McGinness, Siefert, Clausen and Maxwell. <br />The Wa#er collectors and Treasurers reports were read. A motion was made <br />by councilman McGibbon and seconded by councilman .uTuclkera that the bills <br />which were approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants <br />drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. <br />Two bids were received for the seal coating on the streets North of Main <br />Street, one from Diesel Oil Sales Co., for $14,372.50, and the bid Trom <br />Associated Sand & Gravel for $7630. A motion was made by councilman Tu'eker <br />and seconded by councilman Waggoner that the bid from Associated Sand & <br />Gravel for $7630 be accepted. A roll call vote showed all councilman <br />in favor except Councilman Maxwell who voted no. <br />A motion was made by councilman McGibbon and seconded 'by councilman Wagg- <br />oner that the Attorney draw up an emergency Ordinance riot <br />763.0 aPith:j inLterest- of ones .hall<f< off' one pep- _eentf. Passed by a unaminous <br />vote of the council. <br />The letter from H. D. Fowler was read and turned over the water committee <br />by a motion made by councilman McGibbon and seconded by councilman McGinness. <br />Motion carried. <br />Councilman Maxwell reported that the opening of the alley between FirElt 'and <br />second avenues south of Main Street was a construction job and it would <br />require and 1'. I. D. Diistrict to be formed. Also the vacating of the <br />alley between Ninth and Tenth Avenues and Main and Bell streets,:t <br />that it is not the time to vacate said property <br />was the report of the street committee. <br />An Easementtto lay and -maintain a water line across Dayton Street for <br />the Great Nor�4ern Railway Co.,.was prepared by the Attorney and was <br />authorized to^"gigned by the Mayor and Clerk by a motion made by Councilman <br />McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell. Motion carried. <br />A letter was read to the Council from the Depat':.ment of Highways in which <br />ask for an amendment to Franchise No. 1613, if the city of Edmonds does not <br />intend to extend their water line beyond the 1000 feet of pipe which was <br />installed south of the South City limits on Fifth Street, so that a franchise <br />can be issued to the Olympic View water District. This was turned over to . <br />the water committee for a report at the special meeting. <br />
