July 19, 19499 <br />The Council met in regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll call. showed <br />the Following Councilmen present Vollan, Tucker, Waggoner, McGinness, Engels and Maxwell <br />The Treasurers report and cost accounting of water was read to the Council. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by Cuncilman Vollan that Ordinance <br />No. 589 be published by title. Motion carried. <br />A petition was read to the Council for the annexation of the property North of the City <br />limits of Edmonds. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman <br />Waggoner that the next meeting night be set for the hearing on the proposed annexation._ <br />Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman McGinness that the Clerk <br />be authorized to sign the agreement of the General Engineering Co. for engineering report <br />on the water. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by Councilman Waggoner authorizing the <br />payment of $750 for engineering, from the Dayton Street Sewer Outfall fund. Councilman Maxwell seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />Attorney Holte was instructed to contact the County in regards to getting deeds for the <br />streets along the boundaries of the City so the City can maintain them. This was made <br />a motion by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman -Maxwell. Motion carried. <br />The Attorney was also instruntN to write.the Railroad Co for a transfer of title of <br />the 50 foot strip of propertyrwest side of the main line track. <br />The street committee also recommended that the loose gravel be taken off the seal -coated <br />streets and that gravel be taken from Alder street for street purposes. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Taggoner that the <br />Clerk write the Association of Washington cities in regards to what other cities are <br />c _,2-"in g charging for a license for cabaret dancing. Motion- carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Waggoner and seconded by councilman Vollan that the <br />Lions Club be given permission to operate a carnival at the city park next week. Motion <br />carried. A motion was made by councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman Maxwell thatthe <br />license fee for the carnival be wavered. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. <br />City Clerk Mayor <br />August 2, 1249 <br />The Council met in regular ses lion with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll callshowed <br />all councilmen present. The water collectors report was read.' <br />t A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by Councilman Waggoner that the gills' <br />r, <br />which were approved by the auditing.committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the <br />proper funds, Motion carried. <br />This was the night set for the hearing for the annexation of the Hannah Park addition to the <br />City. After hearing from several people a motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded <br />by councilman Waggoner that Ordinance No. 590 be adopled and published. Motion carried. <br />This was also the night set for the hearing on the building and zoning code.. After considerable <br />discussion and explaning a motion was made by councilman Waggoner and seconded by councilman <br />Tucker that the Building code Ordinance NO 589 be adopted and an amendment which is to`be <br />prepared by the Attorney be added. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Tucker reported that the General Eng.
