January 29; 1950 <br />The Council met for a special session with Mayor McGibbon presiding, with the following <br />Councilmen present Vollan,Vlaggoner, Tucker, -Maxwell, Savage and Engels. <br />Mayor McGibbon reported on the different pieces of property which had been investigated <br />for the drilling of the well. He stated.that the Woodruff property was out, that the <br />Zulauf property was not big enough also the Johnson property. Mr. Kugler is willing to <br />give us a clear title to his property for $2000 with an option of $500, and if at any time <br />this property is not used by the City, he wants the priviledge of buying the property back <br />at a re —sale value of $1500. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman <br />Maxwell that the Attorney draw up the contract and be authorized to pay $50 ernest money for <br />the option.in order to obtain the Kugler property. Motion carried. <br />There b eing no further busines• the meeting adjourned. <br />City Clerk Mayor <br />February 4., 1950 <br />The Council met for a special meeting with Mayor -McGibbon presiding with the following <br />councilmen present Vollan Tucker:; Vfaggoner,,McGinness, Engels, Savage and Maxwell. <br />Attorney Holte drew up a contract for the purchase of the Davisson property, the price of <br />the property is $2500, for 120.X 200 feet. The'City agrees to pay to the seller the sum of <br />$250, of which 1111'50 is now paid and the balance shall be paid within 30 days from date hereof, <br />if sufficient water is obtained within 120 days the balance of $2250 will be paid Mr. Davison <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tucker and seconded by -councilman Savage that the Clerk and <br />Mayor sign the contract for the purchase of the Davison property provided the State and Driller <br />approves the site. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Savage that the City waver <br />all overages on water bills and charge just the minnimum for ,December and January Water bills. <br />A vote of the council showed they were not in favor of this. <br />The Clerk was asked to write the Union Oil Co... if our new well plans out, we will be able to <br />let them have the 100 gallons of water per minute, that they inquired about, but we will know <br />for sure within 60 days. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. <br />City Clerk Mayor <br />February 72 1950 <br />The Council met for the regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The.roll call showed <br />all councilmen preenent. <br />The water collectors report was read. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded <br />.by councilman Vlaggoner that the bills which were approved by -the finance committee be <br />allowed and warrants be drawn,on the proper funds. Motion carried. <br />A letter was read from Francis Anderson, secretary of the Library Board, in which she asks <br />for the approval of the reappointment of Hallie B. Anderson for another five year term on :. <br />the Board. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Waggoner <br />that this appointment be accepted. Motion carried. <br />A letter was read from the Department of Public Lands in which they -state that the <br />application for a right of way for a sewer outfall over a portion of the tidelands <br />at the foot of Dayton Street, there will be a.charge of $25 for the right of way, plus <br />a $1 fee. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and,seconded by councilman Maxwell <br />that the $26 be paid to the State. Motion carried. <br />A letter was read from Mr. Strance, in which.he asks that something be done in regards <br />to the drainage water on his property. Afte some talk a motion was made by councilman <br />McGinness and seconded by councilman Tucker �* -=�a�i ; v„- - u)th&+o tT <br />West corner he be permitted to tile into this4catch basin.17 <br />Motion carried. / <br />George Yost came before the council with the information of a loading zone for his busses. <br />His report was that the'Richfield Service Station 'is willing to let them set the waiting <br />station on Dayton street. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman <br />Waggoner that this bereferred to the Safety and Street committees for a report. Motion <br />carried. <br />Dewey Leyda came before the council and stated that he was waiting to have the light pole <br />on Fifth and Main street replaced be the Light Co., so he could finish his curb as this <br />is a hazard condition. A motion was made by councilman Savage and seconded by councilman <br />Tucker that the Clerk write the Light Co.,`in regards to this. Motion carried. <br />
