1951-11-10 City Council Minutes1 1 1 A letter was from Edmonds Diesel Delivery in regards to sell the City fuel oil. The Clerk was asked to obtain prices from the dealers in the city.. The final plat of City Park Addition 1-ur2 was -presented to the council. Engineer Meyring stated that Mrs. Strance was going, to deed 30 feet of her property on Fourth Avenue to make a 60 foot street with the 30 feet that Mr. AiVickstrom is' deeding to the city. Mrs. Strance is asking that the street be graded by the first of the year. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tucker that we approve the final plat of the City Park Addition #2. Motion carried. The sewer extension proposals were referred to the street committee until we get the deeds for Fourth Avenue. The water committee reported that bids on pipe were to be opened on November 20, also the concrete tank is in good condition. t. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Vollan to call for bids on laying of 2600 feet on four inch pipe in South Edmonds. Motion carried. . The safety cotcunittee reported street lights were being; installed in south Edmonds. The request of T. J. Franklin fora pemmit to,add additions to his cabin was referred to the Supt.. A motion was made by councilman Tvtcker and seconded.by councilman Vollan that permission be granted to install the' drinking fountain 'near the library steps; also tboput in a ramp from the sidewalk to the -city hall entrance and to concrete the parking strip from the alley to the entrance of the library. Motion carried. The roll call showed the folloilring councilmen present Holmquist, Tucker, Tuson„ Vollan,, Maxwell and Miller. The Treasurers report was read to the Council. A motion ;was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded b y councilman Miller that the complaint from residents from trees obstructing their view at the �i.n street water shed z--ras referred to the crater committee. Motion carried. Four bids were received and opened for cast iron pipe. One from Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Co., for �1.085 for four inch and 1.61-for six inch pipe with immediate delivery, American Cast Iron Pipe for $1.Q78 for 4 inch pipe and $1.59 for 6 inch with delivery next may Qf �iine .ys, Hugh G. Purcell Co., for 4p1.11 for 4 inch and 1p1.663 for 6 inch, with immediate delivery, and one from Pacific Water Works supply Co., for $1.,09 for four ingh and $1.645 for six inch ruith immediate delivery. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Holmquist that we accept the bid from Pacific States Cast.Iron Pipe co. Motion carried. Councilman Vollan reported that Mr. Franklin must submit plans to build on the west side of his property Councilman Tuson reported to extend the trunk sewer on third avenue south would cost $950. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and sedonded-by councilman Maxwell that the City pay the difference 2nuthenc6bt bet -teen and 8 inch and 12 inch sewer, not to exceed Ip150. Motion c arried.
