The Water Committee reported that Mrs. Lindsey had contacted them in regards <br />to purchasing of her water sysloem. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that <br />.Mak Meyring establish the grade from 7th to 9th on Walnut street and furnish a <br />map of same to the city and the cost not to exceed $75. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. <br />City Clerk Mayor <br />M*y 6, 1952 <br />The council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll call <br />showed the following councilmen present Holmquist, Tucker, Tuson, Vollan and Maxwell. <br />The Treasurers and water collector reports were read. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell <br />and seconded by councilman Tuson that 'the bills which were approved by the auditing <br />committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. <br />,A motion was made by.councilman Tucker and.seconded by councilman Holmquist that the <br />bill of Davis & Ryland for the contract work for digging and laying of water main on <br />Cedar, Eighth Avenue and Main & Olympic avenue be paid less the 15% to be withheld <br />for 30 days as per contract. Motion carried. <br />This was the night set for the hearing on rezoning of lots 9, 10, 11 & 12 in Block J <br />and lots 21, 22, 23 & 24 in Block H, from a residential to a commercial zone. A <br />motion was made by councilman Tucker that this application be tabled and find out <br />what his intentions are. The motion received no second. A motion was made by <br />councilman Maxwell.and seconded by councilman Vollan because of no objections to <br />the rezoning,, that this property be rezoned to the commercial zone. Motion carried. <br />Attorney Holte reported he has received a letter from. the Attorney General in regard <br />to the action of the Council on the sale of the property to Al Brandt. He stated the <br />action was in order, which approves the sale of property, lots 3, 42 5 and 6 in Block 14 <br />less the Grdat Northern Right of way, plat of the City of Edmonds. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Maxwell that the petitions for street improvement be <br />turned over to the street committee for approval. <br />Mr. Shorett came before the council with a petition with ll.signers for water.on 100 <br />Avenue west. This was referredto the water committee. <br />Mr. Gerdon ask to have water.furnished to his property North of our South Edmonds <br />water tank. This was also r@Zerred to the Water committee for consideration. <br />The condition of the alley between Main and Dayton streets just' east of Fifth Avenue <br />was referred to the street committee. <br />A motion was made by councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the <br />contractorfou the school building be required to obtain a building permit at the <br />regular fee required for building. <br />A motion was made by councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the <br />Supt. notify Dr. Jennings that the street committee is not in favor of opening up <br />B street, but we will furnish,the grade information. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Holmquist that <br />Edmonds go on daylight saving time. A vote showed that we stay:on Standard time. <br />Therebeing n further bus ss the meeting adjourned. <br />A <br />City Clerk IWor <br />May 20, 1952. <br />The Council met`for its regular session with the following councilmen.present <br />Tuson, Vollan, Engels, and Maxwell. Mayor McGibbon being absent Councilman Maxwell <br />served as Mayor Pro=tem. ` <br />The Treasurers report was read to the Council. <br />A letter was read from W. V. Kingdon-and Rex Willis in regards to getting water on <br />Bell street from tenth to Olypmic avenue. A check for $150 accompariyed Mr. Willis <br />letter. This eras referred to the water committee for consideration. <br />Mr. Gerdon again came before the council in regards to getting water on his property <br />on Terrace Road, it was estimated it would take between 1100 and 1200 feet of pipe. <br />This was referred to the water committee for a report at the next meeting. <br />
