Attorney Holte reported a petition has been.received.f rom the property owners for <br />grading, ditching and graveling on Eighth Avenue from Spruce to Pine streets. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the <br />At torney draw up the Ordinance for setting up-the,Local Improvement District.. <br />Motion carried. <br />A letter was read by the Attorney in regards to several items requested by the <br />property owners for the sewer along sprague and Daley streets. A motion was made <br />by councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Engels for the Attorney to draw up <br />and Ordinance for the proposed sewer if he finds that the petition is valid. <br />Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman Tuson that the <br />addition to the City Code for the rezoning of property be adopted. Motion carried. <br />r <br />The Building Code amendment was held over until the next meeting for passage. <br />Mayor McGibbon making his presence known, presided through the remainder of the meeting. <br />The proposed salary Ordinance No. 618 as requested by the.State Inspector was read for <br />the first time. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Vollan that the <br />Supt. post 25 mile speed limit signs on Sprague street at 9th and Olympic avenues. <br />Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the bill <br />for $t0 for a mailing permit and $10 for postage be paid from Civilian Defense Fund. <br />Motion carried. <br />Mayor McGibbon suggested that the City purchase a loud Speaker System, the cost will <br />be from.$100 to $150.00 <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded dry councilman Vollan that the <br />Safety committee recommends that the 5 minute parking in front of the Liquor store <br />be denied. Motion carried. <br />A motion ras made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the <br />Light Company be notified to move the street light on Third and Walnut so it will <br />shine up Walnut Street as well as Third Avenue. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the <br />City will participate to the extend of $3500 toward the blacktop work for L. I. D. <br />W. " Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson for the <br />Attorney to draw up the Ordinance setting up L. I..D. #67 providing the petitions <br />are. signed for this change. The roll call <br />-showed the following choucilmen present Holmquist, Tucker, Vollan, Engels:Tudon and <br />Maxwell. <br />The Water Collectors report was read. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and <br />seconded by councilman Holmquist that the bills which were approved by the Auditing <br />committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the proper hands. A vote on the motion carried. <br />A letter was read from G. E. Hanson, secretary of a Mortgage*Company who is holding <br />bonds of the City of Edmonds,. that are in default in Local Improvement Districts <br />No. 21, 22, 24p 25, 26 and 27, in the amount of 1137.63. He states he.will take <br />$113,76 in order to have this taken off the books.
