19520701 City Council MinutesA motion was made by councilman MaGimbdisand seconded by councilman Maxwell that Ordinance # 620 for a sewer along Daley and Sprague streets, setting up L.I. D. #67 be adopted and published. Motion carried. Ordinance'No. 621 was read for the first time. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by Councilman Tuson, that the Attorney draw up and, Ordinance for street improvement on Alder street between sixth and Seventh avenues and the City will pay $500 toward the cost of the street work. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tucker that the Attorney draw up an ordinance for the improvement of Hebe Way and the City is to pay $350 toward the cost of the blacktop work. Motion carried. Councilman Vollan reported the two houses on tenth and Alder street had been inspected and found permits had been taken out, all to conform with the building code. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Engels to adopt the following formula for persons outside.the city wanting water. Motion carried. There being no further b iness the meeting adjo City Clerk Mayor July 1, 1952 The Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll call showed the following councilmen present Holmquist, Tucker, Tuson, Maxwell and McGinness. The water collectors report was read to the Council. A motion was made by councilman Holmquist and seconded by councilman Tuson that the bills which were approved by the Auditing committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. A letter was read from the Frank Friese Post in which they ask for permission to use the street for their Fourth of July celebration. A motion wads made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Holmquist that this permission be granted providing it meets with the requirements of the fire code and a permit granted by the Fire Chief. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman McGinness that a four inch water main be installed on Bell street from Olympic Avenue west, up to 360 feet, after the street grade has.been established.' The City is to pay for the installing of pipe and the street grade, and the property owners to pay.for the grading of said street., Motion carried. Helen Reynolds came before the council with a petition for the rezoning of the home at 623 Main street for'doportrait stAdio. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Holmquist that a hearing be set for this rezoning for July 15. Motion carried. No bids were received for the graveling of Eighth Avenue. A letter was read from Mr. Bouncy and'Mr. Gerdon came before the council with a protest against the sewer that is to go passed their property. Both parties were assured that if their property had once paid for a sewer or will not be benefitted by the sewer they will not be assessed again for this sewer, or if they paid the $100 to connect to a sewer that property will be creditid for that amount. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that we accept the offer from Forrect Kochran Wraacpp6ce of property between 7th & 8th on Daley street for a street, at a cost of $300. Motion carried. After the second reqding of Ordinance ##621 a motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that it be passed and published. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tucker tfor-first reading Ordinance##622 for the improvement of Alder street from 6th to 7th avenues. Motion carried. e A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell 4-ar first reading Ordinance ## 623 for the improvement of Hebe way from Fifth to Sixth Avenues. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman MaGinness that the street grade be established on Bell streetAron Olympic avenue to Tenth avenue. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded.by councilman Tuson that the mayor be empowered to set the dates for vacations for City employees.
