Three bids <br />Were received for L. I. <br />D. No 68, United Paving Co., $43.Aq..50 <br />Diesel Oil <br />Sales Co., $42,675.75, <br />Earl L. Joplin, $362000.00. <br />Three Bids <br />were received for L. I. <br />D. 69, for the improvement of Alder street <br />from sixth <br />to seventh avenue, United Paving Co., $7353.16, Diesel Oil sales, <br />$8,519.00, <br />Earl Joplin $6405.40. <br />Three bids <br />were received for L. I. <br />D. #70 for the improvement of Hebe Way from <br />fifth to sixth avenue, United Paving co., $4,095.90, Diesel Oil Sales, $4474.32, <br />Earl Joplin for $3432.30. <br />A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tucker to accept <br />the bids from Earl Joplin for L. I. D. 69 & 70. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded°by councilman Holmquist that the <br />cost for installing the water line to the City beach be charged to the park department <br />Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded byeouncilman Maxwell to withdraw the <br />motion for the Attorney to draw up an ordinance setting up the reserve funds for the City. <br />Motion carried. <br />A motion wasnmade by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the <br />council adjourn until Thursday night. Motion carried. <br />The Council met for the adjourned Thursday night with Mayor McGibbon presiding <br />with councilmen Tucker, Tuson, Maxwell and McGinness present. <br />After receiving an opinion from Attorney Holte a motion was made by councilman <br />Maxwell and seconded by councilman McGinness to accept the bid from Earl Joplin <br />and the contract be drawn up and signed. Motion carried. <br />There being no further bus' ess the meeting adjourned. <br />City Clerk Mayor <br />August 19, 1952 <br />The Council met for its regular session with Mayor'McGibbon presiding. The roll <br />call showed the following councilmen present Tucker, Tuson, Vollan, Maxwell <br />McGinness and Hohmquis t. <br />The Treasurers report was read to the council, and minutes were read. <br />A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that <br />Ordinance No. 624 be passes and published. Motion carried. <br />Supt,La�� on reported he would like to have water and sewer connections that are <br />3'ought to the property lines on Alder and Wahnut street east of ninth Avenue <br />before the paving is done. This was referred to the committee. <br />Mayor McGibbon called to the attention of the Supt. the hazard of the resouvoir on <br />Ninth and Main street. Also any dirt any excess dirt on street improvements be <br />put in'the alley at ninth and Maple street. <br />Councilman Tucker reported after the committee meeting that the water department could <br />not afford to pay for the replacement of the Lindsay line, and would have to consult <br />Attorney Holte if it could be done under a Local Improvement District. They intended <br />to use the Lindsey line for irregation purposes. <br />The Ryland contract was signed Augast 19. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. a ity. The roll <br />call showed the following councilmen present Tucker, %-ison,-McGinness, Maxwell <br />and Holmquist. <br />A motion tivas made'by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the <br />bills which vrere approved by the auditing committee be allowed and wqrrants be <br />drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the <br />two bills for work on L. I..D..68 and 70 be paid as per contract for work done to date, <br />Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tucker that <br />service be set up for filing of maps for the streetf water and sewer departments. <br />Motion carried. <br />
