Mayor Mcgibbon made an appointment of Councilman Vollan to serve on the water <br />committee, a Motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman <br />Tucker that the council confirm this appointment. Motion carried <br />A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman McGinness to <br />renew the Public Utility District #1 contracts for water and street lights for <br />five years. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman IAcGinness and secondedby councilman Tuson that <br />l'lillaim E. King be authorized to continue construction of seventh avenue as <br />requested, in accordance -with the grade established by the engineer, Also ##- <br />#X// authorize the engineer to establish the grade on Seventh Avenue from Pin6 <br />to 220th at a cost not to exceed $75. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tucker that <br />the Attorney be instructed to obtain a quit claim deed from U`m. King for the Southwest <br />portion of tract six lying in the existing roadway as per survey made by Max Meyring <br />November 15. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tucker thgt the clerk <br />write a letter to Mr. Stine advising him that authorization is given to hook -,up <br />the Morrison and Stines"residences to the manhole at the east end of Homeland Drive <br />Providing that the connection at.manhole be made with an 8 inch main and a rightof way <br />be given to the City of Edmonds from the manhole to 61 street. A blot plan prepared <br />by an engineer showing the location of easement and connection to the existing sewer is to be fur <br />to be furnished the City. All work is to be done under the supervision of the Street <br />Superintendent. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tucker that <br />authorisation be given for a petition to be made in the police office not to exceed <br />l. <br />S"?1 0. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Vollan to make <br />Ninth avenue an arterial from Main street to the south city limits. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Vallon that a <br />call for bids be prepared for a new fire truck, bids to be opened January 6. Motion <br />carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Vollan that a <br />notice be put in the paper asking for requests for street lights. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Vollan that the <br />Supt. change the hydrant at tenth and Maple and put it on a charge line.,.Yotion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Iviaxwell and seconded by councilman Tucker that the <br />Supt. have the hydrant at sixth and alder atreet raised. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the <br />Supt. dispose of the old dodge that is now at the city garage. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman 'Tucker and seconded by councilman McGinness that the <br />water committee be instructed to make further study for the placement of the new <br />water resourvoir. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by.councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Maxwell to authorize <br />the installion of a six in main on Olympic Avenue to Daley street and a four inch main• <br />on daley street not to exceed two blocks with a hydrant at Daley and Olfkic avenue, <br />the property owners to pay 60 cent per foot for the main on daley street. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Holmquist that the <br />water main on pine and C street be c ontuined as far as pine street w ith a hydrant on pine St. <br />with the condition that the property owners pay 60 cents per foot for the main. Motion <br />carried. <br />There being no fuftiher bus .ness the meeting adjo d. � <br />City Clerk Mayor <br />December 2 1952 <br />The Council met for its regular session with IViayor McGibbon presiding. The roll call <br />showed the following councilme n present Tucker, Tuson, Vollan, Engels, Maxwell, <br />Holmquist and McGinness. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman McGinness that the <br />bills which were approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants be drawn <br />on the proper funds. Motion carried. <br />A letter was read from Mr. Kin in which he stated that he requested from the contractor <br />for a driveway to be installed at 944 Walnut street. A motion was made by councilman <br />McGi-ni&ssndnd seconded by councilman Maxwell that the Clerk virite a letter to Mr. King <br />notifying him that no request had been received by the council, that he would either <br />have to contact the contractor or put in the driveway himself under the supervision <br />of the Supt. and according to our specifications. Motion carried. <br />
