A motion was made by councilman Maxwell• and seconded by councilman McGinness that the bills which were approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants-•be,drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman I4,cGinness and seconded by councilman Maxv-.rell that the $100 paid for sewdr connection -from hr. 'Stine and Morrison be put in the street fund. Motion Carried. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell thatltj?Q Morrison be paid $200 for•the easement across his property, to be paid from the Street fund after the two fees have been paid. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tucker to authorize the expenditure up to $100 for a cabinet for the city maps. Motion c arried. The complaint of the hedge at seventh and pine streets was turned over to the: SA&# committee. The vacating of the alley between seventh and eighth between Cedar and Spruce streets was turned over to the street committee. A motion was made,by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tucker that the amendment to the city code for increasing the fee for installation of water meters be passed. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that Ordinance # 639 setting the salaries and viages for appointed city employees be passed and published. Motion. carried. Max-Meyring reported the park Board had made plans to improve the west side of Sunset Avenue. Mayor McGibbon and the following Councilmen .were present Tucker, Tuson, Engels, Vollan Maxwell and McGinness. The Engineersfrom Carey & Kramer came before the Council and outlined the different things that would have ,to be done for the sewer disposal plant. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that Carey and Kramer be employed as engineers and plans -and specifications be drawn up for the sewer disposal plant and pumping station. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Tuson that Mayor McGibbon appoint a committee to investigate the finances for the sewer disposal plant. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tuson to postpone the meeting on the preliminary assessment for -the Sprague street sewer L. I. D. 67. Motion carried. There being no further business the meeting adjourngd. d City Clerk Mayor February 17, 1953 The Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. `The roll call showed the following councilmen present Tucker, Tuson, Vollan, Maxwell Holmquist and I4c Ginnes s . The Treasurers report was read to the Council. The results of the City Primary Election showed for Mayor Paul I4cGibbon receiving 118 votes, Victor Holmquist, two votes, Gordon Maxtivell one vote. City Clerk, Anita Busch received 122 votes, Councilman at large, Sproule A. McGinness, received 118 votes, Councilman First ward, Al Kincaid received 16 votes, Louis Talen 13, Frank Joy one, Tom �.T'ucker, three, Councilman second ward kubrey Engels received 25 votes, Councilman Third ward i,arren A Bishop received 43 votes and Bob McGinness received one vote. A letter wqs read from Carey and Kramer in which they state the fees and services required by them for engineering on the various streets and servers for the City of Edmonds. A motion was made by.councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tuson that we are not in favor of vacating the alley in Block 3 Kellogg Plat of the City of Edmonds, Motion carried. 1 1 1 I 1 A motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Holmquist that the Attorney draw up an ordinance making it mandatory to report any conviction or bail forfeitur for violation of the city ordinance in the taverns or any place selling liquor the state liquor Board. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by Councilman Tucker that the Clerk write to Senator Bargreen and the 3 representatives requesting the passage of Seaate bill ##2l.0, to make Third avenue from Main street to Lynnwood a state Hi€hway Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Holmquist to have 61 lights installed as outlined by councilman Maxwell. Motion carried. The Hedge at seventh 8- Pine streets was found not to be to serious a condition, a motion was made by councilman Maxwell -and seconded by councilman Vollan for the installation of two caution signs at seventh and Pine streets. Motion carried. A motion ti°ras made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman Holmquist for the Supt. to proceed with the laying of water main on C street, and the buldozing be done, theeost not to exceed $100. Motion carried. Theerrebeing/no further business the meeting adjourned. March 3, 1953. The Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. D. ##68, for the improvement of Eighth Avenue from Main to Dayton street, Ninth avenue from Main to Walnut street, Tenth avenue from Maple to Walnut street; Maple street from tenth avenue to ninth avenue and Walnut street from Eleventh avenue to Ninth avenue, by the construction of curbs and gutters, light bituminous mix, and other such work as may be necewsary to make a complete improvement. After hearing from the people in the audience a motion was made by councilman Tucker and seconded by councilman McGinness that Ordinance No. 631 approving the assessment roll for L. I. D. #68 be passed and published. Motion carreid. A letter was read from Frances E. Anderson, in which she submits the name of Mrs. King Bailey for the Council approval to fill the unexpired term of Mrs, Gertrude Hunziker who tendered her resignation. A motion was mane by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Vollan to confirm the appointment of Mrs. Bailey to the Library Board. Motion carried. A letter was read from H.-C. Sater requesting the grade be established for the alley between C street and Ninth, from Fir to Pine street, was referred to the street committee. A written protest for the improvement of Maple street from sixth to ninth avenue was read (to the Council, and referred to the street committee. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that Ord. ##632 repealing Ord. ## 620 setting up L. I. D. ##67 be passed and published. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tucker that Resolution ##117 to improve Datey street, Sprague street.
