Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman McGinness that Councilman Maxwell be appointed as a representative to aid Vic Holmquist. Motion carried. The roll call showed the following Councilmen present Tuson, Vollan, Engels, Maxwell, McGinness, Kincaid and Bishop. ° The water collectors report was redd to the council. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded I.y councilman Vollan that the bills which were approved by the additing committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Vollan that the bill for $1957 against the water department for street improvement be paid from the guarantee fund, to be repaid by August 1st. Motion carried. The letter from Stoll Plumbing in regards to dumping refuse from Septic tanks in our sewer was referred to the street committee. A letter from Patrolman Fechter in regards to going to Police school was referred to the safety conunittee. A letter was read from Mr. Engebretsen in regards to the unfsanitary condition which was left at the soap factory, Mayor McGibbon stated he would investigate the condi6 on. A motion was made by Councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman McG&O'A'I,hat the Council approve the segregation of lots 17, 19, 22 and 2h in Block 71, Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell for the Finance committee to investigate the rieeds"of the City Treasurer in regards to a safe, and bring in a'recommendation at the next council meeting. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the streetoommittee be authorized to go ahead with the patching of the blacktop street not to exceed $1200.00. Motion carried. The matter of Mr. Wickstrom to trade the south 20 feet of Erben Drive to the City for the graveling of Lath & Erben drive was referred to the street committee by Mayor McGibbon. Councilman Engels is to bring in a recommendation regulating Television Aerials. Mayor McGibbon appointed councilman Kincaid on the water committee to replace councilman T4zcicer, also Councilman Bishop on the street committee. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Vollan to give the Lions Club permission to block off Third Avenue from Main to Dayton street May 23, also the Police Department is to take care of the traffic. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the Lions Club also be given permission to hang a street banner for said occassion. Motion carried. A number of questions were answered by the Engineer and Mayor McGibbon. Two protests were read to the Council, also several in the audience protested the sewer. Because of the absence of one councilman a motion was made by councilman Vollan and seconded day councilman Tuson to adjourn this meet- mnd until April 28. Motion carried.
