19530428 City Council Special Meeting MinutesA motion was made by councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Vollan that two copies of the notice of the sale of bonds for the fire truck be sent to the State Finance committee in Olympia. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Kincaid that Patrolman Fechter be notified that we do not feel that we should let him go to Police Sbhool at this time. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that our special Policeman Mr, Walker be paid $300 per month. Motion carried. --Mayor Mcgibbon reported that the census for the City had been taken with a population count of 2828. `The request from Mr. Gallager, a representative of Standard Oil Co., for an eashment-toycfossaoufppr6PBrty, with a pipe line from Paine Field to their Point Wells refinery was referred to the watercommittee. The roll call showed the following councilmen present Tuson, Engels, Vollan, Maxwell, McGinness, Kincaid and Bishop. After some time being spent answering questions from the property owners, for the street improvement, a motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson to adjoin this meeting on the street work. Motion carried. The Council met for the adjourned meeting on the sewer. A roll call vote showed a unaminous vote of the council. A motion was made by councilman McGibbess and seconded by councilman Tuson that Ordinance No. 633 setting up Local Improvement District # 71 be passed. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that Carey and Kramer, Consulting Engineer, are hereby authorised to proceed with the preparation of the final plans and specifications for the sanitary sewer lines within the latest revised boundaries of L.'I. D. #71. Engineering fees shall be as set forth in engineering contract dated"July 29, 1952 pretaining to L. I. D. #71. Motion carried. The water collectors report was read to the Council. A letter was read from Albert Johnson in which he asks to have his taxi stand changed from Fifth Avenue,. in front of Engels Tavern to his own property at 126- 2nd savenue . A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Kincaid that this change('. be made. and the stand at Engels Tavern be cancelled and marked out. Motion carried. A letter was read to the Council from the Suburban Transporation System in regards to the traffic condition at the Ferry Dock, while it is under construction.
