19531005 City Council Special Meeting MinutesThe letter from Mr. Pakkala in regards to the tree in the alley was referred to the street committee. A letter was read from the Library Board in which they ask for the changing of the registers so they may have better heating and more space for shelves, also another letter was. read asking for the appointment of Harold Huseby to the library board to replace Mrs. Bailey, who has resigned beacuse of illness. A motion was made by councilman McGinnnes§ and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the council confirm the appointment. M tion carried. The letter which was read from Mr. Riley asking for permission to extend the water line on Glen Street from ninth the -Olympic Avenue was referred to the watereommittee by a motion made by Councilman McGinness and a second by councilman Tuson. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Kincaid that the water department borrow-$9000 from the Bond fund to be paid back by the first of the year. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tuson that the Street department borrow $2000 from the bond fund, to be paid back by the first of the year. Motion carried. A mo Aon was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tuson that Em. Ord. #641 for the payment of 03369.51 the amount the city is going to pay for Eighth street L. I. D. #66 be published. Motion carried.,,, A motion was made by councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman McGinness that Em Ord. #642 for the balcktopping the center strip of Main Street from Sixth Avenue to Ninth avenue, be published. iO tion carried. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tuson that the Engineers grade on second avenue from Main to James street and James street from 0 second toethird avenue be approved and filed. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councillmaj} Vollan that the City Clerk purchase two venetian blinds for the police office. Motion carried. Councilman Vollan reported on -the number of activities which were held in the city park this past summer. o There being no further bus' ss the meeting adjourned:-- _ City Clerk _Mayor October 5, 1953 The Council met for their special night for the final budget,,with Mayor McGibbon presiding with the following councilmen present Tuson, Kincaid, Vollan, Bishop, Maxwell and McGinness. A motion 'was made by councilman Vollan and seconded by councilman Maxwell that we .eliminate the hydrant rental from the budget. Motion carried. ; After_ several.hours being spent on reducing the budget'to the 15 mills the tax levy is as follows; Curent Expense 7 mills,, .13,077:70, Street fund 6.6 milts 12.9330.000 General Sevier':4 mill, 747:30, L. I: D: Guarantee fund 1 mill, .1,868.25. making the'toial mills of 15, total money $28,023.25, with 1 mill for the special levy, 1,868.29 for the new fire truck. October` 6, 1903 Ihe Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll call showed the following -councilmen present Tuson, Kincaid,, Vollan, Engels, Maxwell Bishop and McGinness. The water collectors report was read to the Council. A motion was made by councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Bishop that Emergency Ordinance#641 for the payment of'$3369.51 as a pvmtion of the cost of Eight Avenue from Pine to(Fir'Street) Spruce street.
