Thee„ouncil;.met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The
roll-callshowed the following councilmen present Tuson, Talen, Maxwell Bishop
and Mac Ginness.

Engineer Reid be..' paid the balance of his bill �6591.13' on L. I.. D. No. 7l�.
Motion carried.
Three, bids were received for -the six inch Mechanical Joint pipe. One from United
states..Pipe, & Foundry for $1:85 per foot, :withdelivery within 30 to 45 days,
Pacific"States Cast Iron Pipe,Co., for $1.86 per foot, with delivery within
two to three weeks, and one from American Cast Iron Pipe Co., for 01.84 per
foot with delivery, within seventy five days.. Upon recommendation DO= the
1�ater.committee a motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman
Bishop that•we-accept-the bid from United States Pipe & Foundry at a pr1hce of
$1.85 per foot. Motion carried.
A petition for the vacating of second avenue north was read to -the council.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Bishop that
the, -'hearing be set for February 15, and Resolution #18 be passed. Motion carried.
A letter was read from Harry H. Olson asking whether or not Second aitenue North
has , -been accepted.by the city for perpetual maintenance, a motion was made by
councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Talen that this letter b e answered
stating that the city cannot make the certification as requested. Motion carried.
The proposed sewer easements were referred to the water cornittee for a decision.
Mrs. Louise Johnson asks $500 for the house which will be destroyed and the cost
for, moving the other house, ford an easement for the sewer. This was referred to
tYi wa ter committee .

our'tity- General , Election be held -at the' High School on March 8, with the School
election held on the same date, with the school sharing the expenses of the election.

A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that
Janes-E. l;iestin be paid $2240.19 for the sewer easement. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman well and seconded by councilman Tuson that.
Frdnk"Schweger be paid $150 for the sewer easement. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Mgxwell that Mr. Hubbard be paid 0414.69 as per
agreement for an.easement in L. I. D. $74.. No second.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness that we pay Mr. Hubbard's assessment in
egcYanTa for an easement. No second.
A fti� on eras made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tale'n that we pay
Mr. Hubbard $414.69 for an easement for the sewer in L. I. D. 74. Motion carried.

accept the offer of a building from the Union Oil Company. Motion carried.
A moion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that
th'e Clerk -write A. B. Korfage, asking them to move the fence from the city street
so we can grade the s tree t. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Bishop that
Mrs.Louise Johnson be issued a taxi cab license and Edmonds Motor Company be
issued --three licendes.contingent upon proof of insurance and the Chief of Police
for valid driver license. Motion carried.

Th6 ,Council met. for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The -

Bishop and McGinness.

Resolution'of sympathy be extended to Louis Talen. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Bishop that Ord.

carried.
The Treasurers report *as read to the Council
Mayor -McGibbon appointed a committee Councilmen Maxwell and McGinnes and himself to
work with Mr. Shaw, Manager of the P. U. D. to work out the districts which are*to
receive new lights over a period of three years.
The Street_Supt. was instructed to ipoW-1 two signs No garbage dumping,, on the north
side of Dayton street.
A motion -was made by Councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Bishop that Attorney
Holte bill for $509.95, on L. I. D. #74 be paid.. Motion carried.
A letter Was read from Robert F. King, in which he asks to have Tenth Avenue North
of Daley -street vacated. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman
Tuson this -,be denied. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman McGinness that
attorney Holte answer the letter from Harry Olson in regards to the perpetual maintenance
of second -'Avenue North. -Motion carried.
A motion.'was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Tuson that bids
on the intercepter sewer line be published February 28,.and the opening of bids be set
for March•15: Motion carried.
Upon the advise from Attorney Holte to settle the case with L. 0. Franklin for $2000,
the amount due him, by doing'so, we will not have to pay the tax and some costs.
A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Tuson that we
make this.eettltment: Motion carried.
The water committee authorized the laying of approx. 1600 feet of six inch pipe and
necessary hydrants on second avenue north of Edmonds Street. A motion wa ma a by
Councilman Talen and seconded by councilman Kincaid that we call for bidsaying
of pipe from.Edmonds street to the North end of Mr. yiickstrom's plat, whith an
alternate bid from Edmonds street to Caspers street. bids to be pt:u blished Feb. 2$
with the opening of bids March 15. Motion carried.
Upon recommendation from the street committee, a motion was made by councilman McGinness
and seconded by councilman Bishop that the Clerk answer the letter from Mr. Garnett
stating,, -that we are interested in a 30 foot street from Fifth, avenue to six and half
street.",. Motion carried. r
Also'in regards to the complaint received from George Hanson, in regards to the alley
drainage1on to his property, there is'nothing the city can do to correct it.
A'motion was made by councilman Talen and seconded by Councilman Tuson that we accept
Wiskstrom's plat of Susnet Addition between second and third avenues. Motion carried.

The,Co�ngil met for its adjourned meeting with U6y6r"McGibbon presiding, with Attorney
Holte, Engineer Reid and Councilman Maxwell present.
This.was the night set for the hearing on L. I. D. #74. After hearing from the
property owners, it was recommended by the committee that the asses,'Ment roll for

A letter was read from Eugene L. McKeever, asking to have the taxi stand changed
from•Engels Tavern to the parking space in front of the Shell Service Station.
