1 <br />1 <br />I- <br />I <br />A motion was made by j'Councilman Maxwell and seconded W Councilman Talen that <br />the street Superintendent proceed mrith the work on B street as outlined by the <br />Engineer Reid, to make the repair of the street to approximately 20 feet in width, <br />at an approximate cost of $250. Motion carried. <br />Engineer Read reported that the extentior_ of Sprague street is not practial3ble. <br />A motion was made by councilman Sommerseth and seconded by councilman Talen that <br />...Resolution #121 for the improvement of Sprague street be passed and the date of <br />the hearing be setfor July 19. Motion carried. <br />A. motion was. made, by Councilman Tuson and secondedby councilman Sommerseth that <br />the street grade as submitted by Engineer Reid for second avenue from Edmonds <br />'..street to Morse addition be accepted. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Cloud that the <br />street glade as submitted by Engineer Reid for Tenth Avenue between Sprague and <br />Daley street be approved. Motion carried. Councilman Talen voted no. <br />:.Engineer Reid reported that the grading on Pine street has been completed and is ready for <br />the laying of the -water main. Also that the plat of View Manor on Cedar street <br />between Eighth and Ninth avenue is ready for the approval of the Council. A motion <br />vas,madecby councilman Kincaid with a second from councilman Sommerseth that this <br />.plat be'approved. motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Tuson and'seconded by councilman Talen that the <br />:Weston Plat on Hemlock street be accepted. F <br />A motion was made by councilman Kincaid -and seconded by councilman Sommerseth <br />that the bills which were approved by'the auditing committee be approved and <br />warrants be drawn on the proper funds.,. —Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilri_an Kincaid and seconded by councilman Mamiell that <br />the street Supt. purchase new streetsigns to approximately �'�'450. Motion carried. <br />Couricilman''Tuson reported on the repairs of the city, and change of heating in the <br />_,building. The plumbing, moveing of burner, new celvs and change of radiation, and <br />painting would cost $6000, installing new radiation upstairs, %51200, new stairs in <br />front of the ;building $825, rptacing of windows up -stairs, $60 apiece. <br />_ 1% <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. <br />City Cle rk <br />51 <br />Mayor-pro-tem <br />JunC13 <br />1955 <br />The Council met for its regular session with Councilman Maxwell serving as Mayor <br />pro-tem, because of the death of Mayor Paul McGibbon. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Sommerseth and seconded by councilman Talen that <br />the'two'bills for labor at the City park,from Bob Olson for. $25.65 and R.. D. Billington <br />for $13.50, be paid. Motion carried. <br />A letter was'read from Jehovah Witness asking for permission to hang a banner across <br />Fifth street, also a letter was read from Mrs. Wilkes asking for permission to put <br />'a house trailer on her property. These were held over until our recessed meeting. <br />A motion was made by councilman Talen and seconded by Councilman Tuson that we hold <br />our recessed meeting Thursday June 30. Motion carried. <br />June 30, 1955 <br />The Council met for its recessed meeting with Gordon Maxwell acting as Mayor pro-tem, <br />and the following councilmen present Tuson, Talen, Kincaid, Cloud2fflshop and Sommerseth. <br />Because of a vacancy of the office of Mayor a motion was made by councilman Tuson <br />and seconded by councilman Cloud that Gordan Maxwell be elected Mayor until our next <br />:_City Election. Motion carried. <br />Arlie Siefert a member of the Lions Club came before the council asking for permission <br />to hold a carnival at the High School Playfield July 6, 7, and 8. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Tuson that the Lions Club be given permission <br />to sponsor the Carnival.
