Notion carrial. <br />Ddr. Main, who resided on Maple street, east of tenth avenue asks that the grade be <br />established. A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman <br />Bishop that the Engineer -establish the grade on Maple street from tenth avenue east <br />.to the end of the street. Motion carried. <br />The vacation of Hemlock street betmeen 8 and 9 avenue was set f or a hearing on October 4 <br />by a motion made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Bishop. Motion <br />carried. <br />Councilman Kincaid reported that the P. U. D. has donated oil to oil the streets in <br />the City park. <br />A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Bishop that the <br />bills which were approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants be <br />drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Kincaid ands econded by councilman Bishop that the <br />bills for remodeling the library building be paid from other funds, as decided by <br />the Treasurer. Motion carried. <br />The Petition for annexation of B16cks 3 and 4 South Park Addition to Edmonds, was <br />set for a hearing on Sept. 20, on conditione-that Attorney Holte ascertain if 75% <br />of the property has signed the petition,Ahis was made a motion by councilman Kincaid <br />with a second from councilman Sommerseth. Motion carried. <br />The annexation of a portion of No rth�Edmonds by petition was set for a hearing on <br />Sept. 20, by a motion made by Councilman Tuson v ith a second from Councilman Bishop. <br />Motion carried. <br />This meeting was recessed until Friday night Sept. 9, for the making up the Prelim- <br />inary budget for 1956. <br />September 9, <br />1955. <br />The Council met for its recessed meeting tirith Mayor Mam ell presiding. <br />This was the date set for the opening of bids for $8000 General Obligation <br />Bonds. <br />No bids were received. <br />A motion was made by councilman <br />Bishop and seconded by <br />CouncilmanrSommerseth <br />as no bids were received, that the <br />City purchase the $8000 <br />General Obligation bonds as set forth by Ordinance #664, <br />with vrith interest of 3 <br />bonds to be purchased <br />, <br />from t'ie L. I. D. Guarantee Fund and Fire Reserve Fund. <br />Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Tuson and second ed by Councilman Talen that we. <br />'offer Air. Van Sullivan $7000 for his property for our -sewer disposal plant. Lotion <br />Carried. <br />The Treasurers report for the month of August was read to the Council. <br />A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Sommerseth <br />on the proposed improvement for Daley street, that the city pay the cost of <br />item"3 and 4 not to exceed $300,-and we furnish the grader for grading as necessary. <br />Motion carried. <br />The Council proceeded to making up the preliminary budget for 1956. Upon completion <br />of the preliminary budget, the Council ordered it be placed on file at the City Clerk's <br />office. <br />There being o further busin.es the meeting adjourned. <br />City Clerk _ Mayor <br />September 20, 1955 <br />The Council met for its regtil.ar session with Mayor Maxwell presiding. 'Ire roll call <br />sh(wred the following councilmen present,' Tuson,, Talen, Kincaid, Cloud, Bishop and <br />Sommerseth. <br />'This was the night set for the hearing on three annexations to the City o£.Edmondsi <br />No 1, all of Block 3 and 4. and lot 1 in Block 2�, in the South Park Addition to <br />Edmonds, there being no one objecting to the annexation_ a motion was made by Council- <br />man Tuson and seconded by Councilman Bishop that Ord. No. 666, annexating said property <br />to the City of Edmonds, be passed. Aiotion carried. <br />No. 2, for annexating the property N6rtheofrt4erCtty, chaniging the City limits from <br />Seventh avenue Hasth to Ninth avenue, thennorth to 196th, then to the north line of <br />Mr. Robins property. Because of no-abjbctioris to the annexation a motion was made <br />by"Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Sommerseth that Ordinance No.667 be <br />passed. Motion carried. <br />
