A. motion was made by Councilman Kin caid and seconded by Councilman Sommerseth that the <br />Cub Scouts, Pack 302 be allowed to cut the trees on the right of tray, south of 11aple street <br />on eighth avenue. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Engelbretsen, who resi es'inn a mraterfront came before the council, he asks for <br />permission to replace the ,.'on two sides of his house with cedar shingles. Motion carried. <br />A motion wqs made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Talen to recind the <br />action taken on Fourth Avenue due to insufficient signatures on the petition. Motion carried. <br />A letter was read from Bud Little asking for a refund of $40, which he paid for a Building <br />•permit., as he is not going to build note. A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid that his <br />money be refunded. This was turned over toethe <br />water.' supt. to take of. <br />The street condition of Glen street, Riley Park Addition, was referred to the street Committee. <br />Mayor Maxwell reported that the census for the City of Edmonds was going to be taken. <br />A motion was made by councilman Cloud and seconded by Councilman Sommerseth that the bills <br />as approved,by the auditing•committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the proper funds. <br />Motion carried. <br />As recommended by the chairman of the stree6 committee, and•a motion was made by Councilman <br />Kincaid and seconded by councilman Bishop to proceed with the dnporvement of Ninth avenue <br />from Sprague street to Iain street according, to plans as outlined by Engineer Reid, in stages <br />of work as funds are available. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Bishop that Attorney Holte <br />obtain right-of-way for culvert purposes and fill,and a title report be obtained. Motion carried. <br />Chairman of Street Committee Kincaid also reported that street repairs will cost between <br />$?2500 and $03000. lie also reported that the curb and gut+xr on "Main street from'Sunset Avenue <br />to Sixth avenue is to be repaired. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bishop and seconded by Councilman Sommerseth that the Salary <br />Ordinance #676}.9$6r 1956 be passed. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bishop and seconded by Councilman Talen that the amendment <br />of city code Chapter VII Article I Section 7-1.09 E , raiding the fee for installing a <br />3/4 inch water meter from $65 to OP and a one inch meter from $85 to $100, be passed as <br />amended. Motion carried. - <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Cloud that the hearing <br />for annexation of the Southeast portion to the city be February 21, sUbNet tbrre=checking <br />of petition. Motion carried. <br />`The Edmonds Rod and Gun Club asked for permission to install their sign at the City limits <br />of Edmonds, this request was granted under the supervision of the Chief of Polace, by a <br />motion :wade by Councilman Sommerseth and seconded by Councilman Bishop. The roll callbshowed <br />the following councilmen present Tuson, Talen, Kincaid, Cloud, Bishop, Steed and Sommerseth. <br />1 letter liras • read from -Mrs. Emmet 9bhool, who -resides at Seventh and Cedar street, asking <br />• to have the water from her property to be put in the storm sewer, this was referred to the <br />water committee . <br />A letter wasrrread from John black, asking for permission to but the timber in our South Edmonds <br />CD <br />water shed area, this was referred to the water committee. <br />A letter was received and read to the Council from the Polution Control Commission. in regards <br />
