Mayor Maxwell appointed John Pierce as a consultant on the park.board, without fee. <br />A motion was made by.Councilman Bishop and seconded by Councilman Sommerseth'that the <br />appointment be accepted. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Bishop that Engineer <br />Reid draw up a basic plan for the park, at an estimated cost of $50. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by -Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Cloud that the fee of <br />0200 be waived and he Mr. Kochrian is to install the sewer, under the supervision of <br />the Water Supt. Lawson, and the street portion of the sewer to be the property of the <br />City. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bishop and seconded by councilman Sommerseth that we <br />accept the.plat of Thomas Addition #16 after,it has been approved by Engineer Mid. <br />Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Steed that the three <br />bills, Don'Tuson for mileage for $56, James Reid for a city asap for $595, one to <br />James Reid"for street grades curb and sidewalk grade on third avenue for $127.42, <br />be allowed. Motion carried. <br />There bean no further business the meeting adjournedOil <br />-�• <br />City Clerk -Mayor <br />April 3, 1956 <br />The Council met for its regular session with Mayor Maxwell presiding: The roll call <br />showed the following Councilmen present Tuson, Talen, Kincaid, Cloud, Bishop, Steed <br />and Sommerseth. <br />The Water Collectors report was read to the Council. <br />A letter was read to the council about the property at 722 Fir street, stating that <br />this property has not connected to the sewer, making an unsanitary condition in this <br />area. This was turned over to Attorney Holte for answering. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Talen.that the <br />amendment to our City Code Chapter 8 Article ),known as trade stimulators, changing <br />the amount to be paid per month from 075 to $50. Motion carried with a no vote from <br />Councilman Cloud., <br />A motion was made by.Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Talen that the <br />Engineer establish the grade in the alley between Fir and Pine street and Plinth and <br />C street. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Maxwell,toappointed Sproule McGinness, Chairman; Tom Murphy, Kingman Bailey, <br />as a committee /(1h'e' Civil Service Commission for the police Department. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Bishop and'seconded by Councilman Sommerseth that the appointment <br />be confirmed. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Maxwell reported the results from taking the census .for the City is 4145 population. <br />Councilman Ixincaid recommended and Mayor Maxwell appointed'Sproule McGinness to serve <br />as ex officio on the street committee. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Cloud that we call for <br />bids on approximately 2200 feet of six inch cast iron, mechanical joint, class 150, f.o.b.�f� <br />Seattle. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made kKaCpHff;Jman Tuson and seconded by councilman Bishop that we call for <br />bids for 20 hydrants,�bids to be opened May 1, hydrants to bed installed under the supervision <br />of the BAter Suit. Lawson, fire Chief Astell and Engineer Reid.' Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Talen that wecal.l for bids <br />for installing 880 -of <br />approximately feet six inch water main including one hydrant on <br />Olympic avenue north of Glen street, bids to be opened May•15. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Talen that we call for <br />bids for installing the sewer, water and improving the street in the Thomas Plat, bids to <br />be opened May 1. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Bishop that we Pay <br />Edmonds Motor Company $20 per month for adequate heat when needed)to keep the fire hose <br />in condition. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Bishop and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that Mr. Parent <br />a property owner at Eighth and Dayton street, be given permission to build•10 feet from <br />his property line. Motion carried. <br />As recommended by the safety committee and a motion was made by councilman Talen and second- <br />ed by councilman Kincaid to purchase the police car radio that is needed. Motion carried. <br />
