A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Steed that <br />Attorney Holte contact the bonding houses for bids on warrants and bonds for the <br />two L. I..D.'s: Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Talen and secondedby Councilman Steed that the <br />hearing on Emergency Ordinance #680 be set for July 17. Lotion carried. <br />A motion was�made by councilman Talen and seconded by councilman Bishop that Res- <br />olution of Intention No. 126, for the installation of a sewer on Cedar Street be <br />passed. Alotion carried. <br />A bid of $406.10 for painting the City Hall was turned over to the Mayor. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Talen that <br />Attorney Holte obtain Title report4 on Tenth Avenue North extended. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Talen and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that a <br />transmitter and receiver unit for the fire truck be, purchased, 50% of the cost to be <br />borne by the Snohomish County Civil Defense. The Rdll <br />call showed the following councilmen present Tuson, Talen, Kincaid, Cloud, Bishop <br />and Steed. <br />Three bids were received for the warrants and bonds on L. I. D. #77. One from <br />G ande & Co., wit& an interest rate of 44% fer the warrants and Bonds, and they <br />will pay $100.12 of the par value for the bonds, plus accrued interest, Pacific <br />Northwest.Co., interest rate of 4 5/8%. and agree to pay $100 per•$100 par value for; <br />for the warrants and 1100.28 per $100 par value for all bonds issued; the bid from <br />Terry Thompson is for 42% interest on warrants and bonds, he will pay $100,00 for <br />.each $100 for the warrants and $100.09 per each. $100 on the bonds: <br />A notion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Talen that we accept <br />the bid from Grande & Co., for 4;;/e- interest on the warrants and Bonds. Motion carried. <br />This was the night set for the hearing on Emergency Ordinance # 680. A motion was <br />made by councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that Em. Ordinance # 680, <br />for the printing of.the Zoning Code and the Subdivision Code, for $1000, be passed. <br />Motion carried. <br />This was also..the night set for a hearing for annexating that portion of lots 9 & 10 <br />Block five, Alderwood Manor No. 9 lying contiguous to the City of Edmonds. A -motion was <br />made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Talen that Ord. #681 annexation <br />section to the city Motion carried. _ <br />Mr. Blair came before the council in regards to a parking problem in front of his <br />property on Fifth Avenue. He stated he was willing to have the curb and gutter and <br />a driveway put in, which will take care of this condition. <br />Engineer Reid reported to the Council on the developing the street west of the Railroad <br />tracts from Main to Dayton street. A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded <br />by councilman Steed that *tuner �]te write the Great Northern Railroad that we intend <br />to .acquire 30 feet or more,, I aSIroad property for a street. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and.seeconded by Councilman Bishop that Engineer <br />Reid prepare preliminary plans and cost estimate for a street on Railroad Avenue between <br />Main. & Dayton street. motion carried. <br />Engineer Reid stated plans would be ready for opening of bids for the Sewer Disposal <br />Plant Sept. 4. <br />A release of CWm for Damages was received and filed from G. Mason Hall. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Kincaid and secondedby Councilman Tuson that Mr. Nels Lindh be <br />employed to repair the porch, sidewalk and sewer, not to exceed w300. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by counci Tuson and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that the bid <br />from Harry Squires for'$1100 plus negiotated cost of street crossing, <br />by water back fillingpLinstalling two hydrants. The City is to pay the extra cost <br />between the four inch and six inch"pipe, the c ost.of hauling the pipe to be added to the <br />1 <br />cost of pipe. Motion carried. <br />A letter was read to the council from the Open Bible Church asking for permission to <br />extend their building one foot over the sidewalk. A -motion was made by <br />councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Steed that the Church of the Open Bible <br />request be denied.
