19560821 City Council MinutesAugust 21, 1956. 1 1 1 1 The Council met for its regular session with Councilman Tuson serving as M,pyor in the absence of 14ayor Maxwell. The roll call showed the following Councilmen present Tuson, Talen, Cloud, Bishop and Sommerseth. Mrs..Alden Kane came before the Council in regards to a water condition that comes on her property and under the house. This was referred to the water committee to investigate. The Treasurers report for July was read to the Council A letter was read from Mrs. W. E. Allen asking to have Sixth Avenue North improved. This wasrefel"red to the street committee. A letter was -read from Gil Mathews in regards to cutting the alder trees at the South Edmonds pump lot. `This was referred to.Supt. Lawson for a report at the next meeting. A list of property with delinquent taxes was received from the County Treasurer. A motion was made by Councilman b,o�p?�gLaerseth and seconded by Councilman Bishop that Attorney Holte look into this and see i�'value of the property. Motion carried. The Cost tabulation prepared by Engineer Reid was submitted to the council for the Cassell Plat of Brookmere Park, North of Casper street. Mr. Cassell is to pay the Water Department $3,060.69 , the cost to install 1100 feet of four inch C. I. pipe, two fire hydrants and valves, the city paying the cost of six inch pipe and gate valve and tee, total city cost of $9UDO, total project cost of $3,958.00. A motion was made by councilman Bishop and second ed by councilman. Talon $3060.69 be paid by fir. Cassell for laying of water pipe, asdoutlined by Engineer Reid. Motion carried. A check was received from Mr. Thomas for $1527 for the balance of the street work to be done in the Thomas Plat. A motion was made by Councilman 'Tuso n and seconded by councilman Talon that the bills for 150.00 for painting the city hall, Thorborn 8, Logozo for $772.44 partial payment for installing water line, and James H. Reid for engineering L. I. D. #7? for $3000.00 be paid. Motion carried. \ A motion was made by Councilman Bishop and seconded by Councilman Sommerseth that a charge of 500 per book be charged for the zoning code including the map and the subdivision ordinance. Motion carried. The problem of water at the Great Northern Railroad depot was referred to Engineer Reid. A motion was made by Councilman T len and seconded by Councilman Bishop for Attorney I1olte to write a letter to Mrs. A B. Miller requesting the installition of a sidewalk on Second avenue north, property occupied by Bayview Lumber Co., Motion carried.
